Any Gran Bahia Principe Runaway Bay Brides out there?

Recommended Posts

We are paying the 2500 for the Dolce Vita. It's worth it in my mind, we are having about 60 ppl. I want to do first dance, father daughter dance, speeches etc. so we would like a little privacy to do so. I'm hoping we can push it as late as possible and maybe it the Karaoke bar or something afterwards. We really wanted to keep our private party going after 11, but there just doesn't seem to be space to do so.

There aren't any that are super close.  There are some by the pools, but they close those when the pools close, so the closest would be up in the resort where the restuarants are located.

Hi Kim,

They did have face clothes in the room. Small towels and wash clothes, we upgraded to the Club Diamond, so maybe only in those rooms? But I found the maids to be VERY hit and miss! Some days we would get face towels and sometimes we would not!

Providing them for your group might be a good idea!!

But if the resort does have them, I'll just return them and keep my eyes peeled for other hot deals!

Hello out there to all the lovely brides,

My friend told me about this site and how it was a god send to her when she planned her wedding last year in Mexico!  I am finding alot of info on this site already!

I am planning to get married in 2013 - I have emailed Chandlyn who sent me the 2013 packages and from what I understand you have to put down a deposit to confirm the date. THe deposit is 25% of the package cost.

So one question.... if the package cost 700$ for example but there is 250$ minister fee (standard fee) as well- is the deposit 25% of 700$ or is it 25% of 950$. I assume its too early to pay for all the extra's , I have no idea how many table clothes and chair covers right now! lol

I want to try to fill out the deposit form properly the first time around! thanks

Thanks Kim.  Has anyone else used the spa for hair and makeup?  How far in advance do you have to book? If someone has their email address, can you please pass it along?  Much appreciated!

We never had to pay a deposit as we went with the free package.  And just a note, I was never charged for chair covers and Chandlyn told us they were now included with all the wedding packages, you just have to pay for the bows if you wish to have them.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
