Any Gran Bahia Principe Runaway Bay Brides out there?

I'm wondering if that is for the minister fees.  We payed $200 for them and maybe they are increasing the cost.  I would just ask to get clarification if thats what it is or if its an additional $250 on top of that.

Thanks for the advice JayKay.  I did email her back today asking for clarification.

It's frustrating because we are already paying for the Unbelievable package, we have 29 ppl coming so the package was the most cost effective for us.  To have only a month to come up with an extra $250 is a bit unfair and this is extra money on top that we haven't really accounted for in our budget.

They do not have a steamer.  If you want to use one you have to go through a different company.  I didn't bother bringing one as I just used the steam from the shower one day and hot hot water.

ACDC!

We fly in on the 10th and out on the 17th in the afternoon.

Our wedding is at 3:00 pm.

We also got travel mugs for the guests, and aren't really getting into too much detail with anything else. We have some little decorations for the table and we are getting chair ties but that is about it. We each only have 2 people standing up with us so it will be a nice and intimate wedding party.

We have the little things left to do as well. We are not going to write our own vows, so that is a huge relief. And we are going to keep speeches short and to a minimum!

I am getting so excited! It is good to know that there isn't a steamer there. I may bring one. I am just afraid my dress will be a mess from the plane ride!

Time is flying!

The planning has been ok.  I'm not too picky about things and since we only had six months to plan/organize the wedding our budget hasn't allowed us to do too many extras.  We got travel mugs for our guests as a thank you and helped our wedding party with their outfits. For now, we need to organize the little things for our big day such as the MC duties and vows (if we say personal ones).

How about your planning?  So excited.... we will be there in 30 days.  I can't wait for a holiday and our wedding.

Another question ladies, I was told that I could only book the welcome dinner two weeks before we leave so I sent them an email and I am not happy with the response lol. For the past brides did you have a welcome dinner and if so for how many people. For future brides were you told the same thing.

Here is the response I recieved.

Please note that we do not have one seating times in any of the a-la-cartes to accommodate 33 persons. It will be at least 2 seating times, and they would have to be present in the order booked (everyone cannot go at the same time) If you wish I can do for the immediate bridal party and parents only.

The guys stuff didn't need to have anything done to it.  We just hung it up right when we got there and it was fine.  I'm pretty sure there was an iron in our room.  I remember seeing an ironing board haha

We were told we had to wait until 2 weeks prior to book as well.  However, we weren't told that we needed to have two seperate groups.  Did you ask for a specific restraunt, because if so maybe thats why (some are much smaller then others).  And also maybe because its high season and the resort is at full capacity, I'm not sure.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
