They ask you how many guests you are going to have and you pay right then and there for the extras.  That means if you tell them you will have 45 guest they will set up that many chairs for your ceremony, which in my opinion might look terrible if half them are empty for your ceremony, and that many settings for table. They will also need more waiters ect if you tell them you have more people then you will, like 20 more.  In my opinion you are best not to lie to them about the number of people, but explain you want to exclusively rent out the snack bar and suggest that you will pay more to do so.  Thats just my opinion though.

www.henkaa.com is a great alternative they cut the dresses in the same fabric so they all match but each girl can tie them however you want or is best for them. It's also very practical as they can definitely wear them again. They also come in long and short lengths! Plus a Canadian company : )

Thanks, great find!

I just checked out the site for this dress, it's pretty cool.  I am just concerned that it may not be very flattering for my quite busty BM, but I sent them the info on it to see if it was something they would be interested in.  I also ordered some samples in the colours that I liked, they were free.  I might just even order one of these dresses for myself, I have a couple weddings to attend this summer and it would be perfect, and then they call all try it to see!

I think thats great advice JayKay .. thanks so much!

I have a feeling they will tell me I need to def have the minimum amount of ppl. So I guess now I need to figure out what to do about our dinner/reception. I dont mind doing the free dinner, but I really wanted to have everything (dinner and dance) at the same place so we could do everything the way we wanted to. Looks like I have some figuring out to do. worried2.gif

I just wanted to add my two cents worth on the convertible dress option. I bought convertible dresses for my girls. I was going to order it from Henkaa because its a toronto company but I didn't want to pay that much. I used this company http://www.etsy.com/shop/kinderbliss?ref=seller_info because it was much cheaper for regular size and plus size. This seller makes custom sizes and has a large range of color and convertible style. One of my bridesmaid is a true plus size girl. she wears a 42 DD cup bra and street size 18/20. she is 5'9 tall though. She wears the convertible dress with the tube top. it is great because she can wear it many ways. there is at least 5 flattering ways that she can wear it. the tube top allows for a bra which is important. The seller makes the straps very wide and long so that it can cover well. I think my bridesmaid look great and they can use this dress over and over again.

Victoria Secret also has some but they are very limited on colour options, but come at a great price. I own two and love them. My MOH is also very busty and she also recently had a baby so coverage was a concern of hers. She bought the Henkaa dress as well as the matching tube top and loves it, and I love that they can actually wear them again as well. Also as for the price Henkaa is much cheaper than the more popular Two Birds and the fabric is amazing! It has some good weight to it which is very flattering yet it is very cool in the sun.

If they tell you you have to have a minimum amount of people well that sucks, but it is what it is.  And don't worry, they may change their minds once you get down there.  I found that they told me one thing while planning, but once I got down there they just didn't really care and did what we asked.  What about renting the gazebo for dancing??

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
