How do you go about booking the  a la cartes for the welcome dinner and rehearsal dinner? Is this free?

Another question..... has anyone heard of Alain Hottat? He's a photographer in Jamaica. His website is Jamaicashoots.com. I found his name while searching Jamaican photographers; I emailed him and got some very reasonable prices. He just sent his price list in the email. He does not have a formal price list like all other photographers I've contacted. His pictures look pretty good (there's not a big wedding gallery on there)  but I don't want to chance it, especially if there's no feed back from former clients.

  Ours were pretty basic as when we sent ours out we didn't know specific flight schedules (although we did reserve a wedding date).  We included location, resort and just the month of January and year.  I was glad I didnt include a specific date in January as we had to change our wedding date due to flight changes.

I sent my STD cards out even before I had picked the resort so you're ahead of where I was lol!  I also didn't have an official ceremony date so I only put the month and year.  I put this little verse on it (see below) to at least give some indication as to what we were doing.  Even though I didn't have all the details I wanted to let my guests know asap that they were being invited so that they could start saving up for the trip.  Here's what I put:

 

Save the Date to Celebrate!

 

(Bride's first name) & (Groom's first name) aren't married yet

But save the date so you won't forget.

The Caribbean is where it will be

An invitation will follow so you can RSVP

 

The Wedding of

 

(Bride's full name)

to

(Groom's full name)

 

January 2012

 

Resort, pricing, and other details will be obtained and shared in January 2011.

I've never heard of him before.  I'd be cautious if he doesn't have a large wedding portfolio.  Sometimes when photographers don't have large wedding portfolio's it can be because 1) they've not done very many or 2) they don't have a lot of "usable" photo's to share.  I'd check into other photog's that past brides have used like Sungold, Merrick Cousley, or Marcia Roberts.

He/she has one post ( but when searched I can't find it, so I assume it's hidden or deleted) I'm very creeped out by this. I blocked this person (i say person because i have no idea if it's a male or female). I also reported this person's message to the moderator. Is this a common thing that happens of this forum? I assume this is probably a troll, a creep/pervert. Posts your thoughts......

I tried searching Alain Hottat on this forum and found nothing. I'm very skeptical, and definitely won't even think about using his services.

I was really skeptical when searching for a Jamaican photographer.  I probably researched for about three weeks straight before we settled on a photographer.  I wanted to make sure we were getting a decent photographer, not just someone who says they are a photographer.  We are using Merrick Cousley.  Check him out, we think his photos are amazing!
