Any Gran Bahia Principe Runaway Bay Brides out there?

Recommended Posts

I am also looking at the picses restaurant, how much did they charge you to rent it out, and how much was it for the Jamaican buffet? And did you still have to pay the extra $30 per person? Does it include an open bar? Or is that extra too?

Thanks Angela

Sounds fab but worried as I have not heard anything on any forums about it.

Just 4 weeks until we set opff for JA and I am a bundle of nerves! Stepped up the exercise today- woke up at 5am to work out. I wonder if I have enough time? I am ramblingundecided.gif

Thanks guys

Thanks, Tekeya.

My laptop screen is so small I can't really make out where the snack bar is. Is it far away from the main lobby etc?

Thanks again.

Hi there

No there is no charge to rent it out. The cost of the meal is either $55 or $65 per person- I forget. We also pay an additional supplement of $25 pp outside of our allowance of 16 free guests.

I think the option of this area might depend on guest number but I cannot be sure of it. I know that the buffet option could only be guaranteed for us if we had a minimum of 90 guests. We had initially booked the Grill, but the fact that we could have our own space for meal and dancing swung it for us.

Hi Angela

My hubby-to-be is also called Trevorcheesy.gif

The buffet was either $55 or $65- at one stage the price came down as they released a new package. Yes, we do have to pay the supplement per guest over the free allowance of 16 which is a pain. The open bar is on top of this and costs $23 for the 2 hours that we will be dancing after the meal. All drinks during the meal will be free of charge.

PoshAms -

My wedding is in January but I am very aware of the Piscis Restaurant/Snack Shack. My family and I have been to GBP three times and now our fourth will be the wedding.  Did Chandlyn or Donnalee send you any pictures of Piscis? (She sent me the attached pictures).  I am having my reception and social/dance there.  If I understood Chandlyn right, they have only pretty much used the space for business events/banquets and just recently started using it for weddings.  It's very romantic looking in my opinion, and you get to be practically right on the water.

Hope this helps you!

Hi Samantha

Thanks for your response.

I am unable to open the attachments as I am a newbie, but I think they may be the ones I got from Chandlyn too. Great to your thoughts on Piscis! The idea of being right by the water is fantastic!

Cannot wait!

Quote:Hi Ams! How many people do you have attending your wedding and reception? When did they release a new package? Chandlyn told me I had to pay $1700.00 for the picses restaurant, she still hasn't sent me out any info on it. I can't get into the files you sent me, just my luck lol. I have to pay an extra $30 pp after 30 and I have 70 going so far! So now I'm wondering if it would be $55 plus the $30 pp totaling $85 pp just for the meal and then on top of that $23 pp for the open bar? The prices seem to keep going up! What was your total bill? If you don't mind me asking. Thanks Angelacheesy.gif

Hiya

We have 94 attending but this is likely to increase yet again as a few family members in the States are about to bookwoot2.gifI heard about the new package in August I think- time has been a blur recently so not 100% sure on that! Chandlyn initially said it was $1700 but emailed me when the new package came out as I kept nagging her about wanting to be outdoor and wanting a Jamaican menu. If you like I can email you the info when I get to work in the morning? All my files are saved to my work laptop. Essentially you woulld be paying the $55 + $30 (for some reason I have this down as $25 in an email. I will be damned if they try to change this when I get there as I have email proof- ha!) + $23 for 2 hour open bar. Our total bill including flowers from Jan's- centerpieces, 6 boutts, 4 corsages, 4 bridesmaid bouquets and my bouquet worked out to be just over $8000. Not included our flights/hotel, outfits, hair etc.

Hope this helps.

Hi ya Ladies,

So sorry that I have been MIA in the last few months. A big Congratulations to all the new brides!!!! I really loved all your pictures and video clips. Also I would like to thank you for your honest opinions about your weddings at the GBP.smile159.gif

I'm so shocked that they released a new package. My wedding is May 24, 2012 and I have not been told of the new package! Could someone please post the new package infomation please or I don't mind sending a private message to someone if I know you have it. I'm so confused about this option! wacko.gif Any help would be so great since there is such a lack of communication with this resort. Thank you Ladies for all your help.

Sorry guys- looks like my tired self is causing confusion here! There is no new package per say, just revised costs for a "Prepaid Reception" at the Piscis restaurant.

Sorry if I caused alarm. As far as I am aware, everything else remains the same.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!

I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
