Welcome to the site!  It's so awesome to have another January bride :)  What date is your ceremony? Mine's the 18th at 4pm.  I was going nuts too about not knowing the details in advance!  All I did though was send in my preferences (i.e. restaurant, menu, etc) to Chandlyn so that it was noted on my file and I guess I'll just keep my fingers crossed until the big day.  Are you renting the gazebo for evening dancing?

I have my date and time booked and Chandlyn said our reception is booked although we have no idea at what restaurant  or any details on that. We're bringing our own photographer down and doing our own (fake) flowers and bringing them down too. We've also asked my fiance's older brother to become ordained and marry us down there - he has been in touch with Chandlyn and all she said was that was fine and that the resort "minister" would "work with him"...not sure what that means...I'm sure it will be great once we get down there and everything will be taken care of but it's driving me nuts not knowing all of the details! lol :) Any tips or advice etc would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks in advance!

well we have most of the details worked out. we're getting married here at home now on Oct 22nd then leaving for GBPJ on Nov 12th as originally planned and keeping our original ceremony date of Nov 17th.  even though it isn't what we wanted, we're still going to get our "ceremony" in Jamaica and a "wedding" on the beach and pictures!

I got a dress for Jamaica - very simple, no train, strapless, very very plain, but I think it will work fine since its just the 2 of us and it has a couple of little sparkles on it so should be good with pictures.  plus I won't need any help getting into it!!! lol

all the things I was working on for Jamaica are sending me messages saying 120 days to go!!  but when I switched the date now they say 95 days to go!!  makes it closer now!!

I just want to say thanks to the ladies here. you guys gave me a boost when I really was feeling pretty low. this will hurt for a long time as far as family members go, but we're making the best of it and I still can't wait to get to Jamaica!

Hey Ashley 490!

Nice to "meet" you! We're also getting married on January 18 - but at 2pm! I have emailed Chandlyn about the gazeebo for between our reception (which is at 6pm) and the disco club that I believe opens at 11pm...I haven't heard back from her tho yet...SORRY!!!! Were you wanting it too? :S  If you've already talked to her about it tho, I'd assume you get first dibs etc.

How neat to be able to talk to you on here and both be getting married the same day at the same place just hours apart! Small world!

I'd love to talk more with you if you want to private message?! Let me know!

Hey ladies!! our photographer from home just told us that she is no longer able to come to the wedding and do the pictures, so i freaked out a little then came on here again and saw that a few of you are using Merrick cousley!! I checked out his website and love his work and contacted him. He has our date available so i was just wondering what package some of you went with and if you are doing a TTD as well!! thanks ladies! ...almost 5 months to go!

Erin

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
