Any Gran Bahia Principe Runaway Bay Brides out there?

Recommended Posts

Thank you and YES I CAN'T WAIT! He is still not here. They don't let you go longer than a week without inducing you so I know he will be here by Saturday but man he must be very comfy in there :)

I meant to ask you, did you decide on parasols for your bridesmaids? I am still thinking/looking for alternatives to flowers for the bridesmaids that don't cost an arm and a leg. I saw somewhere on here a really adorable seashell bouquet for the bride from etsy and I loved that as an alternative to flowers for myself by I am still trying to figure something cute and more unique out for the bridesmaids!

I bet you are getting excited! Lets hope the induction works!

I did purchase some parasols.  They were relatively cheap. I got them from http://www.weddingfavours.ca/p/3050/Coloured+Paper+Umbrellas.html.  It is a Canadian Site though. I also looked at getting them from http://www.lunabazaar.com/parasols-by-color.aspx which I think is an American site.  My one friend was married a few months ago and she had bouquets made of buttons and they looked really neat!  She made hers herself though, I have looked on etsy but they are pretty expensive.

I've seen the bouquets of buttons and they are really cute. I am not entirely sure that I am crafty enough to make my own, that's my only worry!

The parasols are very cute. I also found some mini pinwheels on etsy where she does custom orders and I thought that may be cute, a little "bouquet" of mini pinwheels?

Not sure if that link works...any thoughts on that idea?

I've seen people do the paper fans as well which I don't think is a bad idea, but I like the parasols or the pinwheels better.

I like the pin wheels!!! I think its a good idea as long as they are big enough and don't look to small, also it might be annoying if its super windy out the day you get married!

I definately am not crafty enough to make my own button bouquet thats why I went with the parasols.  I just think they look lovely in pictures too!

Hi ladies! I'm new to this site and have been skimming over some of your posts...We're getting married in January at GBP and obviously, VERY excited!! I have my date and time booked and Chandlyn said our reception is booked although we have no idea at what restaurant  or any details on that. We're bringing our own photographer down and doing our own (fake) flowers and bringing them down too. We've also asked my fiance's older brother to become ordained and marry us down there - he has been in touch with Chandlyn and all she said was that was fine and that the resort "minister" would "work with him"...not sure what that means...I'm sure it will be great once we get down there and everything will be taken care of but it's driving me nuts not knowing all of the details! lol :) Any tips or advice etc would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks in advance!

I too am using parasols for my bridemaids and a white one for me for pictures. I bought two lime green parasols and one white parasol from a Canadian bride on here. She too was a Jamaican bride and said that the wind wasn't that big of an issue. The parasols are in great condition so it couldn't have been that bad. One decor note, I am grateful to have gotten most of my decor items from other brides on here. The only decor item I didn't get from a bride is my centrepieces that I bought from homesense which is the ontario version of homegoods.

I'm planning on making my brooch bouquet myself with my mum. So far I have brooches from my mother, grandmother and aunt. I'm using my aunt's and grandmother's earrings as well as pearls and buttons from my great aunt. I plan on buying some rhinestone buttons, glass beads and pearls from ebay. I'm still in the collecting phase so I'm glad that my wedding is a long time away. Right now i have collected 18 pieces of jewelry plus a small box of white buttons. The best part is that it all came from family so I have lots of something old.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
