Hey Brides.. What is everyone doing for a rehearsal dinner? Another bride and I are getting the run around... Chandlyn says to call 2 weeks before to make a reservation for 30 people but the PR person at the hotel says they don't reserve the restaurants for that big of a party without paying the close down fee of $2500... Any already marrieds do a rehearsal dinner or anyone getting close have any info?? Thanks!!

We're not doing a rehearsal dinner...don't really think it's needed..it's a destination wedding...we are enjoying the not so structured planned out events that ususally go with the "traditional" wedding. We will prob just all meet at the buffet for dinner the day before wedding:)

I wasn't planning on having a dinner rehearsal either, I think I will say we can meet at the buffet and who ever comes, comes. But I think I remember reading somewhere not to sure where that you call three weeks ahead and make a reservation it didn't say anything about having to pay the $2500.

there was someone on here that did a rehearsal and dinner and now I don't remember who it was. I remember they did have to make special arrangements with the main Bahia office, not Chandlyn but it wasn't a restaurant close down I don't think. try going back to about page 180 and check around the past posts. if it comes back to me I'll try to get it here but easiest way is to backtrack here. sorry it isn't any more help than that

we recently got married at this resort and booked without Chandlyn at the grill for our rehearsal.  we were 17 in total, however, the dolce vita was closed for our wedding day and the only other restaurant they have weddings is at the grill and I did n't want to have my rehearsal same place as my wedding.  we asked chandlyn to make a reservation for us at the buffet and she said she would but she didn't.  when we got there we just asked the waiters and they put a few tables together for us.  it all works out.

The 2500 is if you want a private reception.  They will close down the restaurant and only your party will be there.  Totally not worth it for a small wedding.  You will not feel awkward at either restaurant.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
