I ordered paper fuschia and mango orange lanterns, parasols, and luminaries from www.lunabazaar.com today, can't wait to get them!!!  Chandlyn told me they would be able to set up decorations if we brought them, so I hope she's ready! haha

Are u planning on putting the lanterns and luminaries at the gazebo? They sure would add a nice touch. I was looking at having some tiki torches but the candles would add a more romantic look for sure.

I definitely want to have the tables at the reception lined with candles. Just not sure whether it is worth bringing them down or getting them from the resort. Any thoughts?

Also I had one last question: have you had any thoughts about what song you will have playing when they pronounce you husband and wife? I am still trying to pick this one.

Less than three months and we will be there!!

I asked if they had vases because I'm going to use the bridesmaid bouquets as centerpieces

and they told me they didn't have any???? I find that really odd because they must put flowers on the tables every day???

Soooo frustrating!!!  So I had our wedding rehearsal booked and confirmed with Beverly for 6pm...now when I emailed to reconfirm with Donnalee and she said they can't do it at 6 b/c their office closes at 6!!  This is waaaayyyy too stressful to be happening a week and a half before our wedding!!!  Our day trip is planned for that day too!  We planned it according to our rehearsal time!  OMG I want to scream!!

Sorry...had to vent!

I just wanted to let you gals know I am selling my flowers for $100 CAN plus shipping to your area. I paid around $140 US for them plus $50 shipping from thebridesbouquet.com. I have no use for them now and I do not like to collect things.  One thing I forgot to write in my review is how much I did not like the flowers that I saw the brides and bridesmaids carrying, they were small and looked cheap to me. I think they were what the resort was providing. Tai Floral was not in my budget and I am not crafty at all so this was my solution to flowers.  Email me if you are interested !  [email protected]

Yep, that's the plan.  I don't know if I'll have them all set up for the ceremony since it's at 2:30...instead I might have them hang a few lanterns on the light posts along the path way, and then for the gazebo reception have them put the lanterns in the gazebo and set up the luminaries along the path in the evening (I got battery powered tea lights to put in the luminaries since it might be windy).  I'm also going to put the parasols in front of the chairs to add some color during the ceremony and I think I'll just bring some extra chair sashes with me to put up with the white tulle they already decorate the gazebo with.  I figure during the day time, the scenery will be good enough for decorations so I don't want to add too much more, but at night I want to add some light and color.  I want to have candles for the tables during the dinner too...but I'm not sure how to get them down either.

When is your big day?  I haven't figured out what music I want yet.  We are having a steel drum band so it makes it a little tricky, since after asking twice, I still haven't gotten any kind of playlist for them from Chandlyn.  I really want to walk down to Somewhere Over The Rainbow, and maybe One Love once they pronounce us man and wife...but I'm not sure.  It's on my list of things to decide lol.

So sorry to hear about all of this Missy!  That really stinks.  I'm sure they can work something out especially since the rehearsal won't take that long.  I would stress the fact that you planned the outing around this time that was previously confirmed, so they have to work around your schedule because it's your only option.  And sorry, but if they are closing at 6, they can take 20 extra minutes to make sure you get your rehearsal so you are ready for your big day!

Hi Ladies,

Now that there has been so many brides to get married in Jamaica. Has any Canadians been able to get married with just their short form birth certificate?  Also is there anything that Canadians (specifically Ontario) need to do before leaving? Do we need a Canadian wedding license?

Thanks girls!

You don't need a Canadian wedding license if you are getting legally married in Jamaica.  If you are getting legally married in Canada then yes you do.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
