Any Gran Bahia Principe Runaway Bay Brides out there?

Recommended Posts

any travel agent that deals with Transat should be able to help you out. we're out of Toronto - aren't you out of Montreal? yes the price is all inclusive - tax, fuel surcharge and the upgrade to royal golden but if you aren't out of toronto, it will be different and if you're travelling a different date that might make it different too. we're travelling on Nov 12th and our wedding is on the 17th. Transat is Saturday to Saturday so if your wedding is on the 25th, you'll have to return the day immediately after your wedding.

Fleetmac,

The ceremony was really short...like 15mins....and then the cake cutting and toast also went by fast. I would say we were at the gazebo for a maximum of 1.5hrs, including pictures, although we didnt do tons of pix this day b/c we had a trash the dress session the following day....If they cant switch anything you would be fine, but you may want to push dinner back a half hr just to give yourself time to refreshen up....

Sleepski, here are pix of our dinner (it was at dolce vita).

"Welcome Kristy28!  You definitely made the right choice, GBP is going to be an amazing place to get married at (esp since you are a 2012 bride who gets the new prices! haha!)  Let us know ifyou have any major  questions...everyone is super helpful and this forum is going to be a life saver for you!"

Welcome.  Feel free to ask whatever questions because I'm sure there are others wondering the very same thing!

I'm flying out of Toronto too, I'm not far from Hamilton. That is a wicked price I am planning on leaving sunday but could leave saturday I am staying for two weeks so it really doesn't matter if it's saturday or sunday. The travel agents (2) I have been dealing with all use sunwing and the price hasn't come near what your getting. I am going to try and go online today and look for an agent that deals with Transat.

I checked the transat website and it's the same as sunwing 1500 and something :(  Was this a promotional thing? Your very lucky to get that price I have been watching for quite awhile now and have not seen it get that low.

Hey All...

Hope your planning is going well! I'm finally getting somewhere! I've been corresponding with Donnalee, Chandlyn's assistant, and she emails back the same day every time! I'm very impressed!

Question for you ladies.  I'm trying to make up my mind whether to do a semi-private reception at the Italian Restaurant or the Grill.  We're going to be a small group of 16-20 so we just couldn't justify the private reception.  We tend to prefer the menu choices at the Grill, but from looking at the pics below, I'm wondering if the Italian restaurant offers more privacy for a semi-private reception.  Do any past brides or resourceful brides-to-be have any information about this?

Also, just wanted to confirm that most are sending in documents that are not notarized? I have not tried sending them in yet, but the email mentioned again that they must be notarized.  It would be nice to avoid the extra cost if possible!

Thanks a bunch!

Italian - little room off to the side of weddings so its a little more intimate...or basically youll be sitting with everyone else if you do rent it for a private dinner.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
