Any Gran Bahia Principe Runaway Bay Brides out there?

Recommended Posts

Hey ladies, I am renting out the Dolce vita for my dinner and reception. I was just curious for anyone who has already been there, what the grill resaurant was like and how you thought it would be for a private recetion. Just wondering if it might be too big (i will have 50-75 people) or if there are seperate rooms for a dinner / dance like in dolce vita. thanks!

I totally agree and now that I read 15 pp per hour that's 30 bucks per person times however many peope go. That's really pricey. I am really thiking I will buy booze and mix and serve ourselves if possible still talking to the fiance on that one.

I wanted to ask you a question steph. How long was your ceremony and cake cutting all together? I have set my time for 4:00 and my reception for 6:00 and I a, wandering if that's enough time for the ceremony, toast , cake cuttting, and pictures at the resort and on the beach? I have been thking of trying to move my ceremony or dinner bu another half hour what do you think?

The view from the gazebo....it was a beautiful night!

ACW,

When we met with Beverly down there she told us that we could pay $20 for the 2hrs and only had to pay for 1/2 the ppl....well not even. We had 59 of us and they charged us for 25...You can only have the gazebo for 2 hrs. (8:30-10:30) because then the dj has to go to the disco and Beverly said they dont want to disturb the other guest with the sound of music...

My understanding of this is your not paying for the booze but rather paying for the extra staff required to be there.

That's correct - you're actually paying for the bartenders, not the booze.  And I've been to a few other DW at other resorts, and this is standard....  Not just a GBP thing...  It stinks, but that's just how it is.......

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
