Any Gran Bahia Principe Runaway Bay Brides out there?

Recommended Posts

about the chair covers, i just got my email back from chandlyn and she knows i'm going with the free package and she told me that they WERE included, so i guess we're all just gonna have to wait till we get down there to figure everything out, because no one seems to get the same answer from her on anything!

This is crazzzzzzzzzy......... We should all be getting the same answers.

Anyone else renting the gazebo with their own music and liquor?

I'm so confused now.  I understood that since they have to set up the speaker system for the ceremony they simply leave it for the evening.

I asked her about our own liquor and she said we could get our own from them.  Then I asked her again just in case and she said no.  So I sent her another email back and she said ok and to give her a list of what we wanted so that she could find out the prices for me as they had to be ordered from elsewhere????

From My Perspective in Regards to Music. YOUR IN JAMAICA!!! Forget the Ipod, Hire a Local Steel Pan Band and Make is something Authentic. That way you DONT need to Worry about Speakers and what not.. Its fabulous Backround music during Cocktails or could be the Main event!!

Just my Opinion!!

We just don't have the money for this as we are paying for this wedding ourselves and we are both students.  Thanks for the opinion though.

Everytime I think of the prices for the packages I get more annoyed that us 2011 brides don't get these new prices.  This is an awful thought, but does anyone think if we all well...bitch enough about the price differences, maybe she'll cave?  Sorry I know that is an awful thought but I mean honestly....they are HALF the price that we are paying this year!  Has anyone heard a legitimate reason as to why we cannot receive the same prices?  Grr...sorry had to vent!  All these confusing answers that everyone receives and the new prices...it's all so frustrating!

PS- happy st pat's everyone! :)

No I don't think its a bad thought because I've been thinking the same thing!!!  I think its ridiculous!! I did send Chandlyn our info form with our credit card number for the 25% deposit and said specified that i wanted to pay 25% of the $850 Unforgettable package in hopes that once she accepted it then she couldn't say anything about it.  She did send back an email saying "Thank you for the information"... So i don't think that'll get me too far but i'm going to keep trying!!

wow. step away for a few days and you really miss a lot!!

not sure if I can help out here at all except to pass on what I've been given.  all of the AI resorts I've ever been to guys are NOT allowed shorts - dress or otherwise - for dinner and shirts must have a collar. I plan to check on the sandals bit cuz my guys are wearing them with their wedding clothes. I had completely forgotten about that until I saw it mentioned here, but again, my FI has always had to wear proper shoes at the dinner restaurants and we've been to different AIs in several different places.

I was told there are chair covers even with the free package, but that you pay for the sashes, and that's from the 8 page information thing I got from Bev before she left. there are actually 3 choices of bouquets that you can chose from and for some reason I can't paste them here, but if anyone wants them I can send them.

I think I might email tomorrow and see what kind of answer I get back about the price changes.  we're nov 17th which is ALMOST 2012 right? that should cound for something.  it's also coincidentally 8 months from tomorrow!!! exactly in fact. thurs 17th tomorrow and we're thurs 17th. dress shopping is on for this saturday. anyone else getting guys into Tommy Bahama? that's what we've picked. they actually have a destination wedding section on their website!!

as an FYI, I got another email today about another fuel surcharge, sunwing again. they're adding more - another $30 per person for new bookings.

I don't think that bitching about the price change is bad at all!  But I did come up with the devious plan....the print out's don't say 2012 anywhere on them...so those are the ones that I plan to bring down and maybe just play dumb?!  But if it does come up...then I plan to use the leverage and perhaps offer to pay for the top package if they accept to give us the 2012 price but we'll only go with the free package if they don't.  It'd be a difference of over $400 more that they would make if they give it to us...

I don't understand why they are giving the packages out so early if they aren't applicable until next year!!??!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
