Any Gran Bahia Principe Runaway Bay Brides out there?

We are planning on having a sand ceremony and are unsure of when would be the most appropriate time to include it in our ceremony?  Any ideas or suggestions?

My girlfriend did it right before the wedding certificate was signed, I thought that was a great time, it was kind of a half-way point in her ceremony

Im not sure if you got an answer to your question yet, But I asked Beverly about it, and she said dinner can either start at 6, 6:30 or 7pm. I reserved my dinner time with her a couple of months ago the same time that I chose the time of day for my wedding.

I plan on taking a dip and then getting changed back into my gown and i am bringing a cocktail dress in case i find it too warm after all the pics are done. I just plan on sitting around and having drinks and relaxing afternoon and hopefully they will let us have the first sitting at the restaurant.

Hi Ladies!

I just got an email back from Chandlyn (the assistant wedding coordinator) with answers to a few of my questions so I thought I'd share.  If anybody would like me to send the set menu options just PM me your email address, I'd be happy to share :)

Is there a deposit that we have to put down? A 25% deposit is required on selected wedding package If so, when is it due?  At least 3 months prior to arrival at the resort.
At this point I'm unsure of what our options would be for the reception and what additional costs would be incurred.  Any information you could provide me with would be a great help.  For dinner we offer the Garden Grill and the Italian Restaurants. Please see attached menusRestaurant will be confirmed at least 2 weeks prior to arrival at the resort.
Also, we were thinking of having a rehearsal dinner of some type the night before the wedding.  What options do you have for that? This can be arranged for the Buffet at 6:30pm where  a section will be reserved for your group.  I've read some reviews from folks at other resorts that mentioned a beach bbq/bonfire.  Is this an option?  Sorry but this is not permitted at this resort.

I just heard back from the Assistant.  We are going with the free package, and its going to be $400 for the paperwork and all that stuff, plus tax and it has to be cash.

We're using the resort photographer, and I read other places that you can haggle to get the prices down, so I'm budgeting $500, we don't want many pictures and my dad bought a super fancy camera so he's been playing with it and is pretty excited.

The cake and flowers are included in the free package.  Plus the decorations, its white, good enough for me, not too concerned I'm more excited about the beach background.

We didn't have a choice in restaurant, so we're in the Garden Grill.  I wanted the Italian place, oh well, what can you do.

The hair, I have no idea how much it will cost, I'm budgeting $90 (I'd rather go high then low) and I"m doing my own make-up.  The assistant asked if I wanted a trial, I said no.  I don't see the point, and don't want to waste all that time in the salon, plus I'm going for simple so it shouldn't be too hard.

I want a flower in my hair, so I'm either going to steal FI's bout. or ask for a flower when I sit down with Bev when we get there.

One week to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

akua420 - that's so exciting!  make sure you come back to us and review your experience after.  I just had one question about the Garden Grill not sure if you can answer it but what the heck is "mix grill" on the menu no. 1 option?  I'm quite annoyed by the menu choices because I only seem to like a couple things on each menu, not to mention that I'm allergic to fish/seafood so I'm even more limited.  I wish we could set the menu ourselves.

I'm leaving at the End of May and haven't put a deposit down at all.  I am going with the free package and ordering my own flowers and photographer, so not sure if i have to pay a deposit? I'm confused now, after seeing that picture of the wedding on the beach i may change my mind from the gazebo to the beach!

I confirmed with Beverly that you don't need a deposit if you're going with the free package

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
