Any Gran Bahia Principe Runaway Bay Brides out there?

Recommended Posts

First look photos are such a sweet idea!! I had actually never heard of it before.

I am not old fashioned at all. Myself and my fiancee will be sleeping in our room together the night before the wedding and getting up and getting ready together that day for our pre- wedding photo shoot, which will be a few hours before the wedding. We are going to be wearing bride and groom shirts, that kind of thing. Then we will go our seperate ways to put on our wedding attire, just before the wedding ceremony.

We get to have our "first look" with just FI, myself and the photographer. If you look up First Look photos they are just incrediable! So full of emotion. That way we're not going to be rushed either... we're going to do family shoots right after the ceremony, but everything else before. This way we get to enjoy cocktail hour with our guests as well :)

Just a thought :)

I've finally got our ceremony booked for January 18, 2012 @ 4pm  woot!  I'm wondering what others are doing or where others are going for the rehearsal dinner?  I'm not sure if it can be done but I thought a beach bbq would be very casual but fun.  Has anyone done this before or checked into it?

Congrats Ashley!! We have our rehearsal booked for the day before but we don't have a dinner planned. I know the resort offers things such as a bonfire, etc, but we didn't really want to spend any more $$ considering it's an all inclusive resort and all :). I know it's offered though!

Just a question to you ladies who've already gotten married / asked Beverly. The tables at the restaurants - are they rectangle/square or circular? I'm getting my centerpieces going and I kind of would like some idea at what I'm looking at tablewise. Also how many did they seat at each table? Thanks ladies!

hey everyone!  thanks for all the information that keeps flowing on here!  it's such a great help.

Tris - as far as i know (at Dolce Vita - italian anyways) i'm sure the tables are rectangle from pics i've seen of it.  for the grill i have no idea tho.

i have a question for everyone tho, we have our wedding booked for 1pm...now if dinner is at 630, that's a whole lot of time in between almost too much time for pics and everything else.  so should i try to change it until like 3? or is it fine the way it is, that way we have time if it's needed, and then downtime too to kinda freshen up? i'm quite undecided at the moment.....

We're getting married at 2, and Bev told me supper was at 6:00, so there will be a few hours to relax, I'm just going to let people do their thing.

Hi!  I'm new to the site but I've been lurking for a few weeks.  So much great information out there, thanks all!  I'm thinking of gran Bahia Principe sometime in Nov. 2011.  I love the option of a private reception with our own bartender.  Has anyone done this??

We are getting married April 12 @ noon. I would personally like to get married earlier to get some nice pics before it gets really really hot and not be rushed through everything. I plan on taking a dip and then getting changed back into my gown and i am bringing a cocktail dress in case i find it too warm after all the pics are done. I just plan on sitting around and having drinks and relaxing afternoon and hopefully they will let us have the first sitting at the restaurant.

You can book your reception dinner time with Beverly beforehand. My wedding is in August, and I have my time booked for our dinner at 7:30, but I think your options are anytime starting from 6-7:30pm,

Hi Tris,

I asked Beverly about the tables a while ago and this was her response:

are the tables square or round?  and how many do they seat?   (I need to know how many centrepieces I need for about 50-60 guests)  Please find that the tables seat 8 - 10 persons each.  The head table will seat the number of persons in your bridal party.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
