Any Gran Bahia Principe Runaway Bay Brides out there?

I just sent an email yesterday to get a quote from Lee's Tours that you booked through.  OMG...how did you get such an awesome rate?!  I just got a quote from them stating that they would honor a special wedding group rate of $17/pp for people 10yrs and older...with 25 adults, that's almost $500!  I know we have a larger group than you...but holy man!  What did they offer you as pricing if you don't mind me asking!?

Hey ladies,

I need some advice.  We have booked our wedding for Jan. 10, 2012 at 4pm.  We were looking online the other day and it shows that the sun will set at around 545pm.  I'm nervous that there will not be enough time for many pictures.  What do you think? Will it be enough time or should be move our ceremony time back to around 3pm?? Thanks!

Well it might be because we have 15 people and the bus holds 15 maybe?  But we were quoted $12 pp for the day, and me and my FI have to pay for for peoples entrance into Dunn Falls.  I had to put down a 25% deposit, went through my credit card yesterday of about $40.    Maybe its more because there has to be a few buses because its so large?  Weird!

There ceremony is only about 20 minutes, so if you do pics before cake cutting and everything that gives you over an hour.  Depends on how many pictures you want taken.

I was worried about the same thing. I am bringing all of my own wording and readings for the ceremony. Im not going by the normal script that the hotel provides at all. Its still going to be a short ceremony though. My wedding time is 3pm, I really didnt want to get married early in the day and to be in a rush in the morning to get ready. Plus we are doing a photoshoot with the photographer at about noon that day, wearing casual clothes before we get ready for the ceremony. Having the ceremony at 3,  I think will give me enough time to get some nice pictures with the sun out after the ceremony is over, and then maybe a few with the sun going down, those pictures turn out nice too!

JayKay & Lmarie - We are getting married at 6:00pm (sunset) so we are doing our pics beforehand. First I was apprehensive about the idea, but after doing some thinking I'm pretty excited about it. We get to have our "first look" with just FI, myself and the photographer. If you look up First Look photos they are just incrediable! So full of emotion. That way we're not going to be rushed either... we're going to do family shoots right after the ceremony, but everything else before. This way we get to enjoy cocktail hour with our guests as well :)

Just a thought :)

tris-what a great idea, however, I really didn't want to see him until I walked down that aisle:)  I think we are going to try to move our ceremony up an hour, then that way we have lots of time for pictures.  I would rather have to much time then not enough!

That is SO CUTE!  I LOVE IT!   But I'm old fashioned, I can't let FI see me from midnight the night before until the walk down the aisle... but super cute idea and I LOVED the ones I came up with when I googled it.  So genuine.

Ya, at first I pouted for a bit and was like "But I don't want to see you until we get married!" but the idea has since grown on me. We'll get to cuddle and snuggle as much as we want before. (AND hopefully I won't cry AS MUCH at the wedding... lies, I will, haha)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
