I sent a quote to them and never heard back for over 2 months, then i sent another one and got a response within a day from her assistant! Try sending your email again - i don't know if it just doesn't go through sometimes or what?!

I know, it would have been nice to meet another "Newfie / Jamaican Bride" cheesy.gif
I have never been down south before and my FI has only been to Vegas outside of Canada... so this will be a first for the both of us!

My only worry is that we arrive on the 4th, the wedding isn't until the 8th and I don't want to look like rudolph or a lobster on my wedding day... the curse of having fair skin and red hair!!

Have you been to Jamaica before? or will the wedding be your first time there?

Too bad we won't be there the same time!!

I am worried about the same thing, looking really red and having bad tan/burn lines in my wedding photos. . We get there on the 14th and the wedding is the 18th. I am very fair skinned too and so is my finacee, so we will have to cover up and wear lots of sunscreen. Its also the first time either of us will be going down south.

Myself and my finacee have not told anyone else this yet, we want to keep it a secret to see everyones faces when it plays but.. The only song I have chosen so far is "I need a girl" by P Diddy! Im going to walk down the aisle to it. I'm not really a traditional bride, my ceremony isnt going to be traditional at all. And the song is perfect for us.

I chose it for the lyrics" I really need a wife at home"...."I need a girl to make my wife" and "You the girl I been lookin for my whole life.
God bless me, I'm glad I got the insight, It's cuz of you girl, now I understand life"

I cant wait to see peoples reaction when it plays. I think its going to be sweet and hilarious at the same time.

What about you?

What songs have you ladies chosen for walking down the aisle and all that good stuff?

I am planning to walk down the aisle to "No one" by Alicia Keyes. I think it is such a perfect song!

I haven't been on this website forever and I just got back into the wedding planning after a big move and I realized I made a HUGE oops! When I was looking over the brochure I had from Beverly I saw that all of the packages required a seven night stay and I purposely had mine shortened to 5 so that I wouldnt be on my honeymoon with my entire extended family! I even had to pay extra to do that because of how the package deals work! I AM FREAKING OUT! I sent an email to my TA about options, but I dont know what we will be able to do since we've already booked and deposited. Has anybody else had a wedding on a shorter stay?!?

If she comes up with nothing I have no idea what we will do! I guess I will just wait until a LOT a LOT of people have booked for my wedding and be like "See? I brought you a bunch of business!" But I dont see that going well!

I am also extremely worried about the sheer size of my group! At first we were worried only like 10 people would come, but Ive already have 11+ people invite themselves! I would not be surprised in the least if my group is 100- 150 people! EEP! has anybody else had a big wedding at GBP or know about the costs for larger parties? Fingers crossed its just early madness, but we both have giant families.

Hi katelyn. I want to lighten up the moment by playing that song, I will be crying that day anyway, and so will most of my guests. Thanks for the link. Its so funny. It made me laugh and also made me teary eyed thinking about my own wedding. hahaha. I really want to plan some funny stuff for my wedding too, but dont have it all figured out yet.

I love it that your uncle will be playing guitar and your sister in law singing with him for your wedding. That will be the sweetest thing

i love that song! We're planning on using it for our first dance. I haven't decided on other songs yet, but we're definitely gonna use 'today was a fairytale' by Taylor Swift at some point during the ceremony

Celeste,

I did notice that the 7 night stay is a part of all the wedding packages.  Not sure if they penalize, but will be asking because I really didn't plan to be there for 7 nights if I didn't have to be there.  Will let u know when I find out something.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
