Any Gran Bahia Principe Runaway Bay Brides out there?

Recommended Posts

Hi briscoecrown, I think I remember reading that you can get day passes, but in order to qualify for a free wedding you must have a certain percentage or most of your guests actually staying at the hotel.

I am getting married there in August, How did you find your wedding experience ?

I'm not sure about the table linens. But I asked Beverley to send me a picture of the chairs used for the wedding ceremony. They are blue with gold trim. If you want the white chair covers , you do have to pay a few dollars per chair, Also the chair ties, you can get in differnet colurs, they cost extra too. I am going to pay for them because they look so much nicer with the covers and ties on them.

I was told that to rent the gazebo for 2 hours the night of your wedding, it was $500, just for the gazebo. And then extra for the DJ and extra if you want a bartender to set up at the gazebo so that your guests dont have to travel all the way back to the bar by the pool or in the hotel to get drinks.

Beverly told me that the gazebo rental was $500 for 2 hours (8:30 - 10:30) including DJ, $250 w/out the DJ...  I hope that hasn't changed!!

I was told $500 just for the gazebo, and extra for anything else for that night, such as DJ and bartender.... you seem to have the details though so maybe what she wrote me was a typo, it was months ago and  I didnt question her any further on the subject because we decided not to rent the gazebo.

Your welcome girl! :)  I noticed that we were getting married not too far apart.  I'm from Grand Falls - Windsor. How about you?

Here is the one I ordered, it was $140 with shipping included. You just send them your measurements and they make it custom for you.

Thanks so much for the extra info about the menus and the pictures are soo helpful!! I finally have my passport invitations made and am getting them sent out this week, i'm getting excited now because all the big things are complete, i just need to make decisions on the little things now and your extra info helps relieve all the stress from that! :)

Anyone know where to get a cheap second wedding dress for TTD?  I don't want to trash my actual dress because we are having another reception when we return home.

Hi lmarie. Thanks for the info.  I'm wondering how much each day pass would cost.  Some of her guests live in Jamaica and the total amount of passes could easily drive up the overall cost of the wedding.

I actually didn't get married at the Gran Bahia.  I was originally getting married in Riviera Maya, but due to the swine flu I did a last minute change to Jamaica and our wedding was held at Iberostar Rose Hall Suites.

lmarie - if you want the chair ties, you can buy them way cheaper than it is to rent them, and they only weigh a few pounds so they aren't hard to get to Jamaica (I got 70 ties and 10 table overlays and they weighed 3 lbs)...  I got mine from weddinglinensdirect.com and they were 0.59 each rather than 2.50 each to rent.  Plus, they are really easy to sell in the forum after you're done with them...

And I was also told that the $500 for the gazebo includes the DJ - I'm taking copies of all my emails down with me in case there are any changes between then and now!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
