Any Gran Bahia Principe Runaway Bay Brides out there?

Recommended Posts

i got the big email from the assistant the other day and it had all the prices for the "extras you can recieve, and in there it says you have to pay for table linens, and chair covers, is this true? i've heard some people say that they didn't have to pay but just curious on others understanding of this.  as well as the renting of the gazebo for the dance from 9-11.  is this $500 for the rental and the DJ?? because again the email i got said that the DJ rental for 1 hour is $400? any thoughts from all the other brides would be much appreciated!  and i looked into those wedding packages from noli/transat, and there is a lot of "fine print" i found and wasn't really worth it (in my case anyways), read carefully if you are thinking of these packages!!

Thanks for the pics of the Italian Grill, Stephali!  That is definately the restaurant that we would like...the more private the better!

ames9782- I was quoted $500 for gazebo rental 8:30- 10:30 including dj, $250 w/out the DJ.  I also asked if we could go any later or earlier and she said no.  (Your dinner is 6:30-8:30).  Also, I am under the impression that you do have to pay for chair covers and linens.

I'm getting married April 22 :)

I emailed Beverly's assistant the other day asking about the long form birth certificates and she told me that the short form ones will be just fine. Has anyone else used the short ones? i don't wanna show up there then find out it wont work, but i'd also like to not have to pay for new ones......

You need to get in touch with vital statistics in BC, they will be able to provide you with a long form birth cert. You can order it online here..

Hi everybody! I have been reading this thread for months now and just joined up as a member tonight1! I am getting married at the Gran Bahia Principe in Runaway Bay on August 18, 2011. I have learned so much and recieved answers to many of my questions from everyone on here, so thank you!

I am trying now to decide on a photographer. Does anybody have any suggestions on who is good to use?

Welcome to this forum!  I'm sure you will find it extremely useful.  We are using Merrick Cousley as our photographer.  We know someone who has used him and his pictures are just what we were looking for, and he is reasonable priced!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
