Any Gran Bahia Principe Runaway Bay Brides out there?

Recommended Posts

I don't think you need to deal with all the paperwork if you are not getting legally married in Jamaica.

I haven't seen anything about the ceremony wording, I think we are going to write our own ceremony and have the minister or whoever does the wedding read that instead.  We figure we can personalize it that way and it wont be so generic.  There is a great thread going on here where brides have posted their ceremonies...sooo helpful, just search for ceremony wording or something like that and it should come up.

I'm ordering my invitations today...yippee!!  I'll post a pic when I get them :)

I'm hoping we'll be able to switch up the schedule a bit - we were at a wedding at the Riu in April and they let the couple change it there, so I'm thinking it won't be an issue?  We want to do our first dance and cutting the cake at the reception/dance following the meal instead of right after the ceremony.

I know a lot of girls on here mentioned how they wrote their own script and it wasn't a big deal. That's what FI and I will be doing. I have no problem with the prayer. I'm sort of religious, FI isn't, but we still pray before large family meals so it's fine, but I understand how uncomfortable it would be if you're not and I'm sure the resort would accomodate this.

To all Canadian brides who have booked their wedding through Nolitours or Transat Holidays.  This company has just released their wedding packages to Gran Bahia Principe Runaway Bay.  Their packages are not expensive and you get a lot.  The bonus to booking on of these packages is that each additional person is $10 instead of $25.  I have over 70 guests coming and it saves me a whole lot of money.   Check it out.

JOY - $400 Our basic wedding package contains all the essentials for a carefree, ideal wedding in the destination of your choice.

Inclusions: Private roundtrip transportation between the airport and hotel • Separate check-in at the hotel for your guests • 2 hours wedding coordinator services • Fruit basket in the coupleâ€s room • Bridal bouquet and boutonniere for the groom • Romantic dinner for bride and groom • The wedding service includes: decoration, music, wedding cake and sparkling wine* • Wedding photographs

BLISS - $850 This is the ideal package for couples seeking the ultimate romantic wedding at destination, while keeping it simple and affordable.

All the inclusions in JOY, plus: One extra hour with the wedding coordinator • Cocktails and hors dâ€oeuvres for the wedding group before the ceremony • Wedding dinner at à la carte restaurant with head table* • Boutonnieres for up to 7 guests • US $100 credit towards a local excursion booked with a Transat Holidays representative

EUPHORIA - $1500 Designed for couples who wish to make a splash, providing top-of-the-line services and advantages for themselves and their guests.

All the inclusions in JOY and BLISS, plus: Separate courtesy room for the groom on the wedding day • 1 1/2 hour hair and makeup for the bride and groom • Wedding dinner at à la carte restaurant (choice of 3 meals set menus) with head table* • Breakfast in bed on the first morning of the honeymoon • US $200 credit towards a spa treatment for bride/groom

One more thing, I'm confused about the birth certificates.  Our original certificates won't do?  I've seen some posts about full and notarized certificates.  How do you go about this?

Hey Ladies,

Here is what Beverly sent me when I asked for a copy of what the minister says....and this was the non-religious ceremony...

Wedding ceremony

The minister will say this part and you will answer by saying ‘I Doâ€

Dearly beloved, we are gathered here together in the sight of God and in the presence of these witnesses to gather in marriage----- ------.

The apostle Paul in his writing declared that marriage is a Holy estate instituted by God.

Therefore, it ought not to be entered into unadvisably or likely, but reverently, respectfully and in the love of God.

Into this honorable estate these two have know come to be joined.

Give eed (listen carefully) therefore to the question I ask you

------- ---, Do you take------ to be your wedded wife/husband to have and to hold from this day onward for better, for worst, for richer , for poorer in sickness and in health, to love, honor and to cherish until you are parted by death.      You will respond by saying ‘I Doâ€

Then you will repeat the vow after the minister.

After the vow you will have the Exchange of rings

-----/--- I give you this ring as a token of the covenants made between this day and as a pledge of our neutral love in the name of the father and of the son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen

Then you kiss the bride

After this, the blessing will be done

Then we have the signing of marriage certificate.

Needless to say, I wrote my own and the minister was happy to read it!!

PS. We got our marriage certificate yesterday!! Not even 2 months later!! woohoo!! Now I can change my name!! :D

I tried to post pictures of the Italian restaurant the other day, but it wouldnt let me....here goes trying again...

yes, the tables are rectangular, but they also are in the grill. And in the grill they are kinda set up like a line.....whereas in the italian it is a room...i definitely would not have been happy with the seating arrangements in the grill....

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
