Any Gran Bahia Principe Runaway Bay Brides out there?

Okay...I thought of two random things tonight when I was talking to my mom, lol. Are you eating in the Italian restaurant - if so what menu are you going with? And what is the seating arrangements like - it looks like long rectangular tables, but I am wondering how many people sit at them for the seating plan.

Thanks again!! And wow you leave in only 2 DAYS!

I can't promise everything but if you guys let me know maybe one thing inparticular you want to know about, or for me to take of picture of something inparticular because I know some things are like impossible to find, I will jot it down and try my best to remeber and when I come back I can fill you in on all the details! I do promise though to take some good detailed pictures of the 2 restaurants because those were the hardest to find and what I wanted to see the most!

So she said we couldn't decide which restaurant we wanted until we get down there, same with the menu. As for seating arrangements she said I could have tables of either 8's or 10's and I'm pretty sure they are rectangles. I went with 8's and made up a seating chart to give when once I get down there. I'll obviously give u more detailed info when I come back but for now this is all I know! But I'm off to do last minute running around...I'll be in the sand in less than 24 hours for 2 wonderful weeks! I'll talk to you ladies when I come back!

Hi girls!

We have booked our wedding date!  Its super exciting.  One year from tomorrow!

Anyways my FI and I were discussing wedding music and we thought maybe we would want to hire the steel drum band.  We are going with the free wedding package, so we don't have the champagne after the ceremony.  When you book, you must book the band for at least one hour, which is $400.  We don't know if it would be worth it to book the band as it would just be for our wedding ceremony, which I don't imagine would be longer then about a half hour.  It just seems like a lot of money for a few minutes worth of music!  If you used the steel drum band would you recommend it or do you think it would be worth the money?

JayKay,

All the brides I've spoken to who hired the band said it was the best thing they did. We are having them play at our champagne ceremony after the reception so the hour makes sense for us. You could always have them for the hour and the half hour after the ceremony just have guests mingle, say their congrats' and enjoy the music?

Congrats on booking the day!! With most of us getting married within the next few months you'll have tons of reviews to go of off :)

Hey Ames, Sorry to hear you're having trouble. I don't have the # off hand but it is on the website. We called and spoke to her once. If you don't mind me asking how long have you been waiting? When it came to booking she was pretty quick with us (no more than a week between emails) but since we've booked she takes about a month to get back to me....

i've been waiting over three weeks, i even tried her assistant, and got nothing, now i just got a phone call about and hour ago from my travel agent and she said she finally got ahold of beverly, so she gave me the dates that are available now she just has to call beverly back and let her know which i'd like.  another question i had was, does anyone know how long after you arrive in jamaica (how many days after) are you "allowed" to get married?   and now that you have booked Tris what have you done about a deposit? has she asked for one? or how long in advance she we put one down? cause i know from what i've read on a few posts on here i'd much rather have put a bit of a deposit down to secure my date and time, so nothing gets messed up.  so now that atleast my TA has heard from beverly hopefully things start to get better from here!

Thats good that you got a hold of her.  She is usually pretty quick to reply to my emails, usually less then a few weeks.  You have to only be in Jamaica for a minimum of 24 hours, but the resort requires 48.  Beverly sent us a package with all the wedding packages, legal requirements, and any extras you can add on, see if you can get that from her.  We are using the free package therefore don't have anything to put a deposit on, but Beverly said we would have to put a deposit three months before the wedding date if we decided to use any of the other packages but couldnt put one down until we had our travel and accomodations booked.  Hope that helps!  What date did you pick??

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
