I have thought about it too...they are sooo stinkin' expensive!  And its not like we are going to be able to keep them and enjoy them either!  But I am only using flowers for decorations...I scored on some bouquets from a former Jamaica bride that match our dresses perfectly!

Hi and congratulations.  I am looking for a place to have my wedding and it looks like this may be the place.

As far as the wedding package - what does

Romantic Ornamental decoration of the wedding site refer to?  I am having approximtely 15 people and am wondering if the free package is okay.

Anyone out there used the free package?  Comments......

Thanks

Hello to all GBPJ brides!

Just a quick question to all the brides out there who have already booked their date with the WC.  My FI and I are having trouble getting prices from the travel agent for November 2011 since it's so far in advance, so as a result, we haven't contacted the WC yet to book a date.

How early in advance did you all book your dates, and when you did, had you booked travel arrangements already?

On a sidenote, does anybody in Toronto have any suggestions for good travel agents/agencies to use?

Thanks!

I contacted the wedding planner first, set a date, then found a travel agent through destinationweddings.com, here i have been interacting with a travel agent over the phone as well as via email. He helped us find group rates for the week of my wedding for all guests. MY wedding is in june 2011. As for flights we gave our guests the option of looking those up on their own, otherwise they can also get help from the travel agent.

I picked a week to go, then found a package through transat i liked (canada) and then I got my TA to call the WC, there was not much left to my surprise for my week April 10-17th 2011.  Now we are booking with air transat in the next few weeks.  I would book as soon as you can because it is 7 months away from me and there isn't much left.

FutureJohson,

We booked a year in advance but we needed a certain week as I am in between semesters for school, and they had rates then. Maybe wait a couple more weeks an inquire. I would book sooner than later so you are not disapointed.

We are with a travel agent from Guelph (like 1 hour from Toronto but will travel anywhere to help) who is a destination wedding specialist and her niece got married at GBJ so I would highly recommend her. PM me if your interested in her details...she has litetally done everything for me so far and I have no worries, I ask her a question and she is back to me in like 5 min and if she doesnt know she contacts Beverly right away and I have my answer back by the end of the day, because as you have heard on here she isnt the easiest to get along with, further she contacts me every few weeks to see if she can help and to see what else is going on...like I sad she is AMAZING!!! and I would highly recommend her!!

We booked in about 10 months advance and then had to change the date. Ugh...

Katelynn - How's planning going??? Since I moved to April I haven't been able to keep up with you as much. I don't think we'll end up being at the resort at the same time anymore... We're leaving April.30th and *hoping* to do a week at Sandles Ochos Rios for our honeymoon right afterwards.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
