I just got some really great brochures for GBP from my travel agent today! Perfect for sending out with my save the dates. If I get around to it tonight I'll try to scan it in and attach it for your girls to see.
katelynn: Here is the contact info for our photographers...they did our engagement shots and they were so much fun to work with that we were kidding around with them about taking them to Jamaica and that's what we ended up doing! Tammy is the owner and she is awesome!

mekanabr: That price includes everything...we are basically giving them the amount and they are applying it where needed. Being as they have never done anything like this before, I think we are just helping eachother out...we get the photographer and they get the experience!

Where did your TA get the brochures from? I would love to see something like that...I don't understand why it is so much harder to find info for this resort! It's driving me crazy! Thank goodness for this website and you ladies! smile41.gif

We haven't sent in any sort of payment as of yet b/c she told me in an email that payment was not due until we booked our accommodations with the resort and we haven't done that yet - on the to-do list for this month. She also told our TA that she would hold our date for 4 months from the request to reserve.

A question that came through my mind today..someone whose had their wedding here might know.

Do they have centrepieces available there for us to use....like vases, candles etc. Just wonderin if I should be looking for this stuff now or to not worry about it as its in Jamaica

I'm having the same problem with her. I haven't heard from her for at least a month and even still it was because I had to get my TA to get her to phone me to just confirm she had gotten my credit card fax.

I know she's super busy and there is probably so many brides trying to contact her but when I spoke to her she was a little snappy with me asking me "what is the problem, I have your stuff what is the issue?" all i wanted was for you to email me back saying yes you got the info and my date is secure.

I've sent her another email asking her a few more questions but that was a month ago if not longer. I'm trying not to stress about it because so many brides have all said they stressed waaay too much for everything to be sorted out once you get down there, so I'm really trying to take their advice and just do what I need to do and hoping everything falls into place.

With that being said to all of you Canadian/ontario brides...have you/where did you get your birth certificate with your fathers name on them? The only thing I could find was a statement of live birth and I'm not sure if thats acceptable and beverly isnt getting back in touch with me to let me know if its ok or not so any help from you guys would be great!

I went to our City Hall and they had long form birth certificate applications there that you fill in. I think it took about a month and costed like $35.

Just a note - Beverly must have it at least 2 months in advance from your wedding...I saw that in one of the package details. We are giving ours to our wedding planner/TA and she is going to fax it to her.

ok so going to the link daphne gave me and the price katelynn gave i think I might have the right thing then but am confused because it doesn't say birth certificate is says statement of live birth. Do the ones you guys have not only have your fathers info but things like how much you weighed and who was the attendant and what not? I hope so because then I should be set! Thanks ladies for the help!

Do you guys know what we have to do to register the wedding in Canada? Does it vary from province to province? I'm in Alberta, and on the website it said to call the jamaican consulant to find out details. I'm confused and not getting straight answers.

Hi ladies...I Finally heard from Beverly last week, thank goodness! It had only been 2 months! After I emailed her prob 5 times (bc I wanted to reserve my date and was getting anxious!) and my TA emailed the sales manager at the resort who also emailed Beverly...she finally got back to me.

Here are a few things she told me:

You can rent out the gazebo without the DJ for $250, just have to get the sound system set up seperatly (although I'm not sure what that means..). Dinner doesn't start until 6:30, and she said you prob need 2 hrs for it (so renting the gazebo earlier than 8:30 doesn't really work). She also told me that they do not allow outside liquor to be served at the resort, so you cannot set up your own bar at the gazebo (you have to pay $15p/p/hr).

The brochures that I had posted about previously came from the resort. My TA contacted them and they offered to send us a bunch. I'll try to scan it in tonight but I"m not sure if the printer is unpacked yet! :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
