Would it be weird to have unofficial bridemaids

Anyway, my FI is only having one guy stand with him, so I was just going to have my sister. I wanted to show how special my two best friends are. I was thinking of having them where the same color as my sister.
What do you think?
I know they wouldn't mind, would probably be more honored then anything.
So glad you brought this up. I have some really great friends from different stages of my life and I was wondering how to involve them in the wedding. I am having 4 bridesmaids, my sister, 2 nieces and 1 of my best friends. But somehow I need to tell my other friends that a. they and their friendship is important to me and b. that I can't have them in the wedding becuase really I would either have just a MO or 12 bridesmaids which doesn't make sense. Most of my friends are in their 30s and have been BMs enough times. I really want to spare them the agony of being a BM, buying a dress we all know they won't wear again and all that. I just want everyone to come and enjoy the party. I hope they understand and maybe are even relieved. I think some may question why I added my best friend in there since they'll all feel just as important but I just can't ask them all to be a BM.

I really want to do the sand ceremony....but I am such a keepsake person for these types of things! Are you guys going to just toss the sand and bring the vase home afterwards or carry the thing in your arms all the way home so it does not mix up? I was thinking it would be easier to toss the sand and just keep my vase/container.

I, too have a similar problem. I have been racking my brain for a way to honour my girlfriend. I thought about having them all wear the same colour, but then thought that may be weird. So, I think I am going to present them each with a flower to wear in their hair upon arrival, and let them where whatever they would like.

That is a really good idea!

I think having an honourary BM is a great idea. Depending on who attends my wedding, I may do it myself. They can be assigned tasks to help out on the day of, and help you get ready. I think it sounds like fun!

With respect to the sand ceremony I know I am going to have a tough sell as well. Good luck!

I really like the idea of buying each of the honorary bridesmaid flowers for their hair. In one bridal mag I saw the cousins of the bride all wore white hats which is a similar idea.

I also like the color dresses.. although my color is lime green which does not look good on everyone. :o)

I'm in a similar situation. We're only having my sister for my MOH and his best friend for best man. I'm going to assign my bestfriend the job of MC. She's super organized and I can count on her to make sure everything runs smoothly (for both DW and AHR). She loves the idea and has been very supportive.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
