My dumb mistakes vent!

I have no clue how long this will turn out to be so forgive me if its a long vent sad.gif. Back in May i contacted an amazingly sweet seller at Etsy about making my custom jewelry for me and my bridesmaids as a gift from me to them for the wedding. FI and I have a joint paypal account and everything, in all honesty arrives at his house in NY. I usually send the vendors an email letting them know our situation and asking them to forward the merchandise to my house. This time I wasn't so diligent and just let it go due to the fact that i would be up at FI's for the full summer at the end of June. After i placed my order the merchandise arrived at the FI house promptly and i was ecstatic to be able to see them! You have to understand this jewelry took literally ten zillion emails to get to the design that i thought would be perfect for my girls and myself. When my FI picked me up from the airport i remember telling him to rush to the house so I could see the "stuff" lol! I was thrilled, they were gorgeous! I quickly tried it on and noticed a little something (dumb mistake #1), my bracelet didnt fit. I remeasured my wrists the bracelet and I couldn't for the life of me figure out what the heck i did wrong. My wrists was the measurement that i sent out and the bracelet was the measurement that the vendor had told me it would be but alas it didn't fit. I promptly contacted the vendor and she very gracefully asked me to send it over to her for resizing. She had stated that she was at her mom's house in USA(she is originally from UK) and that if I could send it there shipping would be quicker etc. and I would get my item sooner!

(my dumb mistake#2) With everything going on and the NYC reception planning as well while i was in NY I didn't even have time to breathe so hence I didn't send it.

After that family issues occurred once i got back home and one thing led to another. Took me 2 darn weeks to the girls to try on their bracelets and figured out one of the BM's bracelet didn't fit comfortably as well(BM admitted afterwords she guesstimated her measurement! I think this falls under the category of dumb mistake #3, trusting your bridesmaid when she says she measured it!!)

Finally 2 and a half months later I got to send the darn package. I was in such a rush that day that i filled out the addy(headed straight for the UK) per the instructions that were given to me so that it wouldn't get delayed at customs and sent it! Recontacted the vendor who again sweetly replied she would let me know once the package arrived. Then i remembered, dumb mistake #4, i didn't freaking put a darn tracking number on the gosh darn package!!!!!!!

So all of this vent leads to this.. It has been a month since i sent out the package, estimated delivery time from PR to the UK was about 10-15 days. I'm flipping out because my only jewelry was my bracelet and my earrings of which i have no bracelet to show since its MIA in the postal service. Purchasing another one is expensive due to the fact that I not only have to purchase mine but the BM again since i have no clue where this package is at and don't know if it will ever appear. Urgh! Im so extremely annoyed at myself at this point and honestly just plain 'ol angry. Id really like not to spend the money with both receptions going on and us trying to purchase a house in NY ATM we are trying to save everywhere we can but i have no clue if I have any other way out and I think knowing that makes me even more upset!censored.gif

Thanks for listening to my rant!shots.gif

Hi,i hope i can shed some light on your missing package. There is an ongoing postal strike here in the uk so the mail is taking ages to get to us.We have noticed at work a drop in post arriving. So hang on in there it is probably caught up in the backlog.Ihope it arrives soon and is not lost forever.xx

oh wow that stinks sad.gif thanks to roo for the info, hopefully it will show up asap!

ps, kudos to venting about yourself! so many brides want to try and place the blame on anyone else, but it takes a big person to admit when you are wrong :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
