Engagement Shoot this Saturday...need help!

Recommended Posts

Hey ladies,

Our engagement shoot is this Saturday in Central Park, NYC. He proposed last thanksgiving at the parade so we though it was appropriate to do the city.

I have NO IDEA what to wear. I have read neutral colors, no patters. It's November, so I was thinking a sweater dress. But then someone said jeans/blazer and heels.

Second issue...picture ideas...what were your favs? Close ups, background shots.

I WOULD LOVE TO SEE THEM!!!!

Thanks a bunch,

Shannon

Both! Just change in the middle! =) I think patterns are okay on one person, but not both. Just don't do two solid shirts of the same color! I think that's so boring. For ours we both wore jeans. He wore a white collard shirt with a dark plain sweater over top. I wore skinny jeans, brown boots and a shirt that had a pattern and then a plain brown sweater. I think they looked okay together... but I haven't gotten the pics back yet!! Good Luck!

I always tell my brides to wear outfits that they know they look GREAT in! Then, you'll feel great throughout the shoot. I also think dressing up a little looks awesome. And, bring several outfits. No need to limit yourself to just one. Do jeans etc. for a bit, and a dress for another bit. As far as what dress - again the one that looks best ON you.

I LOVE when my clints have a dress up outfit and then a casual one. It really gives a great varity in photo options. If you have a pattern dress, that you feel awesome in, wear it, I was never one to say you have to match.

The main thing to remember is just have fun, and your pictures will turn out awesome.

Thanks, I am definitley going shopping for a dress then this week. Hopefully something brown as that's a good color for my hair and then perhaps bring jeans and a sweater.

We'll be in the park, so I will ask the photographer about the outift change.

Thanks so much ...

Anyone have picture ideas? Exampleshuh.gif

I did my engagement session in Central Park, so here is my photographer's blog post about it...

Leigh Miller Photography

We met at the fountain (where my husband proposed) and then walked past the big lawn thing (where the large rocks are with the city view behind it) and then through some bridges and things. We ended at the restaurant in Central Park where my husband and I had a very nice dinner... but they have awesome photo ops.

I hope this helps! :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
