Hi everyone! This is very new to me but I am recently engaged and we are planning on a destination wedding in May 2010. Ideally I would love to do Disney but it's really expensive so I am hoping some of you will have some advise for me!

We would like to do a 3-4 day trip instead of a week on a beach and then we will fly to our honeymoon (thinking Negril).

Does anyone have any suggestions that might match what we are looking for? We don't want a formal reception...just ceremony and a nice dinner for about 20 of our family and friends.

Hi and welcome to the forum! You'll definitely find a lot of great information and advice here. We're planning something similar - not Disney, but a long weekend in Key West with ceremony and nice dinner for friends and family. Happy planning.

              Hey there! Congratulations and welcome
From one Noob to another, this BDW forum is just awesome!!
Amazingly friendly women and loads of information, it should
be very helpful to you! Disney sounds like a blast.. its so hard
to choose, esp when money is almost always an issue, at least
for most im sure. Take your time and look around, you will get
some great ideas on different places! Good luck on your search!!

Hello and welcome to the forum! Something informal in Jamaica will be very easy to plan--the options are plenty of options and a Jamaica wedding can be more affordable than you think. Negril is IMHO the most beautiful part of Jamaica. Good Luck with all your planning.

                  Welcome to the forum!
Yeah, Disney weddings are beautiful, but I understand that budget concerns.
If you'd like to honeymoon in Negril, what about getting married somewhere similar but just a little different. Perhaps Montego Bay or Ocho Rios? Then you're not spending so much time traveling and you can spend more time enjoying each other! :)
