Has anyone had their wedding at Riu in the Bahamas? If so, could you please let me know your review on it? Were the prices for the wedding/rooms resonable? What was your reception like?

I haven't had my wedding, but I was considering it. All I know is that it is an all-inclusive resort and the weddings were reasonably priced, but they have the following requirement:

      Quote:
*In order to have a wedding at our Riu Hotels & Resorts, the couple and the 80 percent of the total amount of the wedding guests must stay at the hotel where the wedding will be performed; otherwise it will be canceled. This is a strict RIU policy we must follow.

Yea I did see that policy, I'm sure we won't have issues with that though. All the guests will stay where we are staying. I was looking at Riu in Jamaica, but the rooms actually look a lot nicer in the Bahamas, but I haven't really seen anyone write about it so I was a little unsure!

I have never stayed at the RIU but have spoken to quite a few people during my travels while in the Bahamas and most seemed pretty happy with the resort. However, you can find plenty of reviews about this resort within the following link on Trip Advisor:

Hi, my fiance and I are getting married there next november. We got an awesome rate of 1 week for 1400/person. My neighbour was there before the renos and really liked it. So we are hoping it will be just as good as her trip. cant wait to see the pic they put of it online once it is open at the end of the month.
