Recommended Posts

FINALLY!!!

We finished our message in a bottle/boarding pass invites. The formal invitation is the "message in a bottle" and the boarding passes are the RSVP card and information about the resort. I think they turned out great :)

I took a LOT of ideas from this forum - and I give full credit to those brides who's ideas I borrowed. Thank you all so much!!

Sticky on the box so people would actually open the darn things -this was taken from the girl who posted earlier today about her MIB invites - and its definitely a necessity for MIB invitations - nobody wants to actually OPEN them!! lol! So thank you for the idea!

Haven't mailed them yet, but we really only have to mail about 20 of them - the rest we are hand-delivering. Its gonna cost about $5 to mail each - ouch! But we budgeted for that when we decided to do them.

Materials:

Bud Light with Lime: Drank these with the help of my BIL. Cost not associated to wedding lol

Shells: Dollar Store 2 bags

Glass rocks: ?? From the fishbowls from my SIL's wedding!

Corks: 10 cents each - we got 40.

Twine: 1 roll $2.50 ish.

Sand: Stolen from the beach nearby... lol

Boarding Passes (Yes they are real) Stolen from Air Canada...

Paper: Regular printer paper stained with tea and burned edges

Charms: Ebay

Wood tags: 2 sheets Balsa wood from Micheals

Tissue paper: $25 for 500 sheets. I think we used 120 sheets or so?? lol.

I think thats it!

I love them - I think they look wonderful.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
