Hi Lauren,

Congrats your engagement!!! Yeah girl there is a lot of useful information on the different forums. It dosen't matter where someone is having their wedding, they have something useful to contribute. One thing that truly helped me and my finace decide on a resor was an Excel spreadsheet. It made things a lot clear as to what each resort was offering and our price out of pocet and what our guests would have to pay.. Anyway, Happy Planning. The time will definately fly by.

Congratulations! I got engaged in March and it took us a couple of months to get organized and make some decisions... now we are booked into the Gran Bahia Principe on the Mayan Riviera and we will be getting married on July 7th, 2010.

Just try to think about what is most important to you for and your DF in a wedding day and see where that leads you!

Hey all - it is me again. Thanks so much for all the well wishes.

To answer a few questions...based on reviews on this forum and the fact that we want his son and niece at the wedding, we are looking at a few of the resorts in Mexico - particularly the Palace resorts or the Karisma resorts since both have family-friendly amenities. We are almost 100% sure that we want to go the all-inclusive route.

Right now, the biggest thing I can do since the wedding is more than a year out is just get us both on a saving program. We are planning to live off of my salary (I make more) and save all of his. That way, by the time the big day rolls around, we will have more than enough saved to give us both our dream wedding.

The biggest issue right now is getting my parents on board - but I am hoping that comes with time. I realize I can't live my life for them anymore. I have to do what makes me happy. Still, I do want them to be there and to truly be happy for me, but we will see.

Now on to creating a siggy so I can add that personal touch to my posts.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
