So sick of their definition of beauty..

Ugh….so I was in at White House/Black Market yesterday looking for a dress to wear to FIâ€s cousins wedding. Iâ€ve lost quite a bit of weight, so Iâ€m back down to wearing a size medium/large top, but my hips are still…I guess Texas is the only way to describe them.

Anyways, I was trying on this really great dress, and this other little girl who couldnâ€t have been more than 18 years old walks out in the same thing. Okay, cool. Well, as Iâ€m walking into my dressing room I hear her and her little friend going on and on about “that girl has a ghetto booty, she really shouldnâ€t be wearing that dress, it makes her ass look giant.â€

NEWS FLASH!!! My ass IS giant! It always has been, and thatâ€s just my body composition. I canâ€t believe that women still havenâ€t gotten any further than judging one another based upon different body makeups. I have worked my ass off (no pun intended) to get to where I am, and not to sound conceited ladies, but I look damn good.

I just think it is ridiculous that people have this almost unattainable definition of beauty, and if you donâ€t fit that mold to a t then youâ€re not considered beautiful. You know what? I am an intelligent, funny, and down right gorgeous curvy young woman, and I donâ€t think thereâ€s anything wrong with that. Iâ€m healthy, and my body is proportional on my now size 12 frame, so society can just kiss my Texas sized @$$.

Preach on, girl is all I can really say! :) Kudos to you for acknowledging that you are HOT, don't let anyone ever tell you differently!

I can wear anything from a size 8 to 14, so I understand the irritation you feel when you say that people think we should all conform to one "standard" of beauty. I think what makes us beautiful are our differences, as cliche as that sounds.

Can you hear me clappinghuh.gifhuh.gif?

Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was built for comfort and not speed.... It's my junk in the trunk.... Keep your opinions to yourself!!!!

I really hear you on this one, whenI was looking for a wedding dress, I went to a small shop local and the owner (YUP the owner) told me when I walked in she would not have any samples to try on because she does carry my size because it would hidious on a hanger and no one would want to try it on..............wasn't giving that place a second thought, I hauled my huge ass out the door with whatever money I was considering spending on my dress.

Whatever!!! We're all made different shapes, sizes some people need to get over themselves and realize there is no such thing as perfection. I would have told her, you can't shake what you don't have sister.

Queen "Fat Bottom Girl"

I have yet to hear a song about some skinny ass chic!!!!

Oh yeah I could go on lmao.... You rock girl

Way to go! Now if only you said that to them...I wish I could have been there to say that for you. I am too curvy and also a size 12 and it drives me nuts when all the cute outfits are only in sizes 8 and less. That they consider 12 now a plus size. Seriously? Iwas a size 18....yes I would conside a 16 or 18 plus size, but 12 or 14? Nope! Most women actually range in the 10-14 size range as per stats canada. Thats why you can never find a large or extra large anything....there are always small and meds left over on the rack that they cant sell. It infuriates me when people judge people by there size bc I have been on both sides of that coin.

We are all made differently on the inside and out and that is waht makes us who we are. In the end those girls are just ignorant!!! I would rather be someone they make fun of then be ignorant. Ignorance is not always bliss....

Way to go on all your hard work and you rock that dress when you wear it!!! Bc you look beautiful and you worked hard for that dress!!

OMG SusieQ I can't beieve she said that to you! What kind of a person says something like that? Whatever. Some people are so closed minded when it comes to people of different body types. I think that's the most disgusting thing I've ever heard someone in the service industry say to patron.

Latina booty over here woot woot! I hate the way society views us curvy girls. When I was a professional dancer I went to so many auditions and was turned away because I has an a**. I danced circles around so many of the girls that got the gig and I would come home in tears. Once J-lo hit things got better but still society still looks down on my figure. What ever!! I know alot of men appreciate women with curves and my FI first attraction to me was my curves. So I am going to take your advice and tell them they can kiss My Big Mexican A**

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
