Regret your dress???

Recommended Posts

So, I think I am regretting my dress decision.

I loved my dress when I found it but when it came in recently...I started to not like it as much. My mom told me its because its not pressed properly and not altered to fit me perfectly. She told me to wait and see. Also, I am a bit self conscious because I've put on about 5 pounds. Has anyone through this? Does it turn out ok?

I am getting married in may so, I have some time. I have already dropped 4 pounds I wanted to since trying on my dress. Need some friendly advise.

Here's a link to my dress, Allure : Style 8524 From AllureBridals.com

Here's another from another store so you can see the back and different angles (I purchased from another store), - Allure Bridals 8524 Wedding Dress

First let me say your dress is gorgeous!!!! I had a very similar situation..picked my 1st dress - a few months later while waiting for it to come in I decided I didn't like it anymore. I went on a dress bonanza and found another dress I had to have - so I bought the new dress and sold the 1st one on ebay since I couldn't cancel the order. Long story short you have to be happy with your dress no one else. I have also heard some girls say they changed their mind but then went and tried it on again and fell in love with it all over again! Its so hard - you want to look and feel like a million bucks that day..i say go try it on again and then go from there. I am getting married in May too and just went through this about a month ago ...good luck!

Ah, I'm sorry you are feeling that way. I worry that when I finally buy a dress that I will feel that way too. I think your dress is very pretty and would be great for a DW! Maybe you will change your mind once you get it fitted and put the accessories with it! like your veil or hair flower (whatever you are doing) jewelry, etc. It might make you feel better then? Is it possible to be a 2 dress bride if you are certain you don't like it?

I hope you fall back in love with it! Regardless, I'm sure your FI will think you look amazing!

Thanks ladies....I think the dress has been the most stressful decision thus far. Everything else is pretty much done. I think I am having a moment due to stress. I have taken on a lot. I am in grad school and I work full time.

Anyway...thanks again, I think I'll feel better about it around January/February when I go to get fitted.

I think you need to give the dress the best chance possible to impress the socks off you :)

Do you hair, do your makeup, have the dress ironed, and your shoes on... Try it on, and if you dont love it, then consider your options.

My best friend thinks I'm ridiculous when we go dress shopping and I have on full makeup and have done my hair all nice (by the end fo the day I look like a dishevelled mess) but the point is to give the dress the best chance possible to wow me :)

I just received my dress two days ago and although I still like it I don't want to use it for my AHR anymore so I am trying to buy another one for my AHR. Unlike you though, I don't have that much time, my wedding is Dec 12, 2009. I think you should do what Jo&Daz says and give it the best chance possible you might like it again! Good luck!

You only get married once. If you don't love the dress, don't doubt yourself. Do what you need to do to find one you do love. You can always sell the one you have. The most important thing of all is that you are happy with the way you look. You've got time to find something else before May if that is what will make you a very happy bride.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
