New Years in Puerto Vallarta

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone!

I am getting married in Puerto Vallarta at the end of December, and we will all be there for New Years. I was wondering if anyone has some good advice on what to do or go for New Years. All the guests are laid back about it and said that we will just see what happens, but I would like to know some options, or possibly book something.

If you have any ideas, I would appreciate it!

Thanks!

Not sure where you are staying, but you might check with your resort if they have anything planned. I was in the Mayan Riviera over New Years and the resort had a party - balloon drop, dj, etc. Everyone dressed up and partied in the ballroom. It was a total blast.

We go to mexico every year for new years and have been to PV for 3 of them. Im sur eyour hotel will definately have a big bash planned, just make sure even if your hotel isnt doing fireworks, to make it to the beach for midnight, there are fireworks everywhere from all other hotels and the sky is comletely lit up, its amazing. I wouldnt recommend going off the resort only because it is sooo super busy, most mexicans take the day off and head to down town where there is a huge party in the streets which is fun but it is almost impossible to get a taxi home and there is no way a group can stay together, new years in mexico is amazing, im sure you'll love it

I can't think of a better city to spend new years and what a bonus all your loved ones will be with you! Def a new years to remember. I would maybe just plan soemthing at the resort so everyone can relax and not have to travel far. Like the girls mentioned email the resort to see whats going on. If you do want to escape the resort I'm sure the malecon will be hopping. What about a group excursion to las caletas?

Hey ladies!

Thanks for the info! I am definitely excited to spend New Years in Mexico! We get married the 30th and New Years is the next day, so there will be two very exciting days! I was looking at Las Calentas Rhythm of the Nights New Years Party. I don't know if you heard of it? It is like the regular Rhythm of the Nights (boat ride to Las Calentas, dinner, and a theatre performance) and then there is a DJ beach party and fireworks, open bar. I am staying at the RIU hotel, so I should check in with them also! It is coming up sooo quick! Thanks for your comments!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
