It's just all the cost wrapped up together. We have one of the ceremonies paid for in our package, but because we wanted a dual legal/symbolic, we have to pay for one separately (so $550). Plus blood work when we get to Mexico is $220 x 2. Then we have to get our Apostille Birth Certificates, so first we have to order long form birth certificates from the government ($60 each) then send them in to a company to have them certified ($250 plus fees for each doc x 2). So that's $1610 USD. The problem was we didn't know exactly how much it was going to get the Apostille Birth Certificates. We knew it would be $250 "plus fees" but when we found out they needed to take them to the Mexican Consulate in Ottawa, I told my fiance to forget it. Way too complicated!!!

Sounds good Sandy! Tuesday June 7th works for me as well. Anyone else in? We can definitely do Una, it's delicious! There's also a new pizza place that opened in Inglewood that's suppose to be great too (called Without Papers, where Nectar use to be). I'm game for whatever.

Really? I heard it cost about $600 all together. I'll have to look into that. Thanks for the heads up.

Wow Natalie! I only saw one of the videos but it's amazing!! Sorta makes me wish I could go back and get video at our wedding :) So work has scheduled a dinner on Tues the 7th that I have to go to :( It's for my boss, otherwise I would've tried to get out of it. Any chance we could do the 9th or 14th instead?

Also ladies, you can see 2 videos on this site of my wedding day.  I think one shows up on the side (Natalie and Jay) and you might have to go to "see all" videos, so you can see the other one.

Enjoy!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
