LOL! If we're all using the same commisioner, we should find out about a discount!!! One of the reasons we chose to do our legal ceremony here was because of the translation issue but also because of the requirement to be in mexico for four business days prior to the wedding date. We realized that with the flights we wanted and such that it just wasn't going to work out very well.

And yes, I also had friends of mine from work elope to jamaica so that they didn't have to worry about any of these requirements!

Apparently we get the bum deal not being able to go down to the courthouse for a ceremony sad.gif

KRama - so sorry for your loss. I read these latest posts at the perfect time today as I too was "sweating the small stuff" and it's nice to have a reminder about the big picture of life.

Anyways ladies, I haven't read through this whole thread yet, but just thought I would introduce myself as another Calgary DW bride. We're getting married in Mexico this fall and I'm very excited. A bit nervous since we will be bringing our 2 year old with us, but the grandparents will all be there so hopefully with a team approach the fiance and I can get a bit of alone time during the week!

hi ladies!

i just wanted to introduce myself a new calgarian, and a new destination bride!

FI and i haven't decided 100% on a destination, but are leaning towards punta cana - possibly the majestic colonial. we have decided on january 2011 which is now just a year away, so i think i better start getting busy!

i am my own travel agent (which might be crazy), but i only have myself to blame for my service!

i think this thread will be really helpful since i am new to town and don't know all the places to go!

i am looking forward to getting to know you ladies!

Kris- I emailed you our ceremony scripts

ChristinaP - I posted a review in the review section that has a few pics in it. I should be getting my professional ones any day now, eek! Makes me feel so weird to think my face will be on someones blog!

Welcome Cowtown & Pamphilia! I have to say, Pamphilia, I wish I had been my own travel agent so kudus to you for doing it. And you WILL NOT regret having a DW :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
