Cara, I used to be a service advisor for ford but it was definately the worst job on the face of the planet...good money though....when I couldnt take it anymore I moved to Line-x , they do polyurethane coatings (spray in boxliners and lots of industrial stuff) and I do accounting, benefits, payroll and pretty much run the company lol :) Hopefully not for much longer..I cant wait to be a student again :)
Cool!!! It's definitely exciting to go back to school, which is funny because remember how excited we all were to get out of high school? LOL But I guess that's different. Interior Design would be so great, I wanted to do that for a while too.

Sherry & Nadine - that is so funny!!!! What a small world. :) lol

KRama that is SO EXCITING!!! YAY!!! That's nice that it came in sooner than you thought! An early Christmas present. wink.gif

kris - one of my bm's is currently at Mount Royal for interior design and she really, really likes it but I know there's a TON of work involved along the way too. I haven't seen her in about a month because she's been swamped with so many projects etc!! Thankfully she's off for the holidays and gets to breathe a little.

KRama - super exciting that you got your dress early! I totally can't remember my date any more but I think it's in February :) Maybe I should call and find out again haha!

Nadine - I was just reading your planning thread - it really seems like things came together well for you and I think you'll have an amazing wedding when you leave next week. I am so jealous that you don't have to wait any longer, but I know you've put your time in too!

And how funny is it that you and Sherry are just a couple floors apart?! I mean, I was surprised enough with how many Calgary girls were around nevermind thinking that someone would be in my same office. That'll be a lot of fun for you both (and a lot of trouble too i'm sure!).

echo2 62 : Thats crazy that one of your bridesmaids is in that, I have heard its a TON of work!!!! I think it will be worth it though. I wanted to go right out of high school but got put first on the waiting list and never got in, I then got a job, bought a house and a new car and am getting married (I DEFINATELY DID IT BACKWARDS) Im a little worried about bills when I go back but hopefully it all finds a way to work out :)

If any of you girls know of someone looking for a room to rent, I need someone for the next 4 years haha...as long as their fun and clean :)..oh and like dogs :)

kris, are you applying to get into the program for next year? I think the nice thing about it are the work terms that you get in between school sessions. They pay pretty much SUCKS from what I've heard (maybe that's the economy, maybe that's the companies taking advantage while they can!) but of course it's all about the experience, right?! At the very least it will hopefully take a bit of the financial burden away for a while. I know it's a nice break from the piles of schoolwork though and you get to feel like you've got a bit of a life again.

And who says the order you did things in was backwards? I think if that's what worked for you then it was just right! And I can say that because aside from the part about returning to school, I pretty much did the same thing! Pets, job, new car, new house, marriage. I'm in awe of anyone who can go back to school because other than taking an evening course here and there, I'm not sure I could do it.

My bff got her degree in interior design and it was definitely alot of work. She was my roommate and i was in biomedical engineering so b/w the two of us we never saw anyone outside of volleyball!

And dont worry kris, im doing it backwards too.. but better late than never! IM doing the evening MBA (tues, thurs and some saturdays) so I will still be working full time. I dont think I could give up my salary!

Oh man I hear you , I DO NOT WANT TO GIVE UP MY SALARY!!!!! Its going to be tough going from being able to buy what I want to literally not being able to buy anything...Ughhhh... the work is the least of my concerns!

Nadine...does your frien enjoy her career now that she is done? That would be terrible going through all this and ending up hating it !

Yes she does, she loves it.. She actually lost her job at the beginning of the year (its not very good economy right now for that line of work) so she has now started up her own consulting business and its starting off well. She has a few clients and im sure she will be susccessful. She lives in philly, not in calgary tho.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
