I had the same experience with the Bridal Centre. My MOH and I were shopping for her dress, and weren't aware you needed an appointment for MOH dresses as well. The receptionist acted totally inconvenienced by the fact we were there without an appointment, we explained we were just browsing and she just huffed and pointed us around the corner. After not finding anything worth even booking an appointment for (which we would have done before trying to get her into anything) we went to thank them for letting us walk around, and to ask about booking an appointment for bridal gowns and they ignored us, the two girls up front just kept chatting, so I interjected and thanked them for helping me eliminate a store from my decision making process, and they didn't even get what I was saying. I ended up at Jessica Bridal, I was the only bride in there and spent 3 hours going between the same 4 dresses. My consultant was so patient and they were great - better yet, after we found my dress, my MOH started trying things on and got hers as well. The prices were great, and the service is great. I wasn't looking for the 'experience' of getting the dress, like you see on TLC so Jessica Bridal fit my bill!

I have two other friends getting married in the next year and we all wound up at Jessicas Bridal and we all purchased there, I totally agree that it was just what I was looking for, they were awesome, and three weeks later when I went in the buy the dress the ladies all remembered me, also when I went May long to pick up my dress they let me stand there for 45 minutes in the dress without so much as a peep, the only thing that I was upset about is the bag that the dress came in, it is just a long white garbabge bag, when we asked about it coming in a garmet bag they said oh yeah you can buy one, what the hell I just spent a ton of money on this dress and you cant throw in a nice bag! Oh well!!!

Hi Ladies, My travel agent is Pamela Park-Walker, a destination wedding specialist at Tier One travel. Her website is www.idoweddingsaway.ca She has been very helpful and down to earth, replies quickly and has lots of experience. When picking an agent I also death with Victoria at Crystal Water Weddings. Www.crystalwaterweddings.com She was a close 2nd pick that I also recommend. In the end it comes down to picking someone you click with and I clicked better with Pam and could see myself working with her for the year as we planned our wedding and booked group travel. I found my dress at Deza's Bridal on Country Hills Blvd near Coventry Hills. It's a small shop with beautiful European brand dresses. If you like the big bridal store feel and selection this is not the place for you. If you like tailored service focused on you with a medium sized selection of beautiful dresses then check her out. Deza is an old-school European bridal seamstress with years of experience and a no-fuss attitude. I found my dress on the discount rack - Dimitrious Illusions dress regular price $1785 on sale for $650. Deza will do the alterations in store herself. My alterations will cost $300 because I am bringing it in from a size 12 to a size 6, putting in padding for the "girls" and adding a loop to be able to hook up the dress to dance. $1030 tax and alterations included for the perfect dress made me and my FI very happy!!

I'm trying to find Misc stuff for my OOT bags - and i'm having so much trouble finding affordable things! I was just on minimus.com and went to check out...my shopping cart of $80 was going to cost almost $45 to ship!!!! Anyone finding any luck online? or in store? I'm looking to spend about $1.00 per item for most of the items (advil packs etc.)

David's Bridal made me pay for my garment bag as well, it was only $10, but you would think that would be included.

yeah!! i'm kind of in a hiatus so I've been a bit MIA from the site. The wedding has taken a second row seat because we're in the plans of buying a house right now. Also, since my maids of honor are in school I don't want to bug them yet about dresses etc. I'm thinking of going shopping with them in December while they're on a break. I'm afraid that if I wait until May it might be too late for our August wedding.

Next month my to do's are:

- OOT bags, maybe get a few items

- bridal shoes
- Hair accessories and jewellery

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
