I have not used them for a group booking but did use them in Jan 2010 for a week at the Gran Bahia Principe Tulum - and I will admit that I will NEVER use Air Canada again. No offense to those who like them - but for me EVERY time I've ever flown with them - they have messed up in some way or another. On top of the fact that their service on board has been way less than satisfactory compared to Westjet..and even Lufthansa.
When we went to the Mayan last year - the flight left late...the flight attendants were quite curt most of the time...AND worst of all - they didn't come to pick us up from the

resort to go home!!  Claiming we cancelled the pick-up which we of course would never do. We had to take a taxi back and barely made it in time.
So from this experience alone - I decided well ahead of time that i would not be using them again if I had a choice.
We've booked with Sunquest for our wedding in the Mayan next year - and got an AWESOME group price too!

Again- I mean no disrespect to those who favor Air Canada - Ive just ALWAYS had issues when flying with them.

Sunshine - I just replied to your post on the GBP page so I guess you can disregard my question of who you're flying with!

I used Air Canada Vacations and I'm SO glad I did. My travel agent recommended them because they actually own and operate their airline and very rarely change/cancel flights compared to a carrier like Sunwing that will cancel flights that are not full and transfer passengers to another flight (sometimes resulting in changed dates). This was important to us since we were booking 8 months out and the idea of having flight times or dates change last minute for 35 guests stressed me out. They had the best prices and when booking as a group, for every 20 people booked, you got a free flight so one of us got a free trip! Myself and hubby got a free upgrade to first class and we received excellent service as did our guests in coach. They also have a price guarantee so if the price of your trip drops 60 day prior to departure, they'll honour the new price.

I know it totally depends on your own personal experience but I've flown with Air Canada many many times for business and pleasure and have never had an issue! I would highly recommend them!

Ha ha - ya- i already replied to that one before i came here - ooops! wacko.gif

Ya- I wish I had better experiences with Air Canada - as I learned about all their special upgrades etc at an AMA Dest Wedding seminar that i went to.
I've heard that about Sunwing/Transat Holidays

Hopefully Sunquest will be fine tho - i'm crossing fingers its a Westjet flight too
We get a free flight for a certain # of passengers too - but i cant remember what the #'s were.
We've got 31 people booked so far! I can't believe it! Wedding it like 1.5 yrs away and already sooo many have committed - we're totally stoked.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
