Oh, I was going to ask if anyone is interested in going in with me on ordering Bubbles or Favour Boxes....  I haven't been able to find these in Calgary, if you have, please let me know!

bubbles.jpgpalm.jpg

Cost for Palm trees is $75.42 for 96....split in half is $37.71 for 48 boxes

or $102.47 for 150....split three ways would be $34.16 for 50 boxes

The more you get the cheaper it gets

lol I totally understand the FI not getting the favours, decorations, etc....I'm trying to sell my FI on why we NEED Tiffany chairs for our wedding...fun times wink.gif

E-shoots cost-wise totally depends on photographer, when not getting them included in a wedding package (we are NOT using the photographer who did our e-shoot for wedding pics). We shopped around, and I got quotes from $250 (for an hour plus digital files) to $1000 (for 2 hours and digital files). We ended up paying $550 for an a la carte e-shoot, which included 2 hours of photography, all of the digital files colour corrected, and 30 shots edited. I must have contacted 100 photographers in the Calgary (and Edmonton!) areas....a bit of a photo-nut!

I'm sure your pictures will help convince him though, so thanks for posting the link cheesy.gif

cookie - what company did you guys use? I'd love to see some of the pics!

How much do e-shoots usually cost in Calgary? I'll have to start looking around (and trying to decide when to do it, might have to wait until it warms up again!).

I'm interested!  How much are the bubbles?  And when are you planning to place the order?

I'm going to be ordering chair sashes and tablecloths from here: http://weddinglinensdirect.com/satin-sash.html.  If you're interested in ordering together and splitting shipping, let me know.  I'm not in a big rush right now, but I know your wedding is before mine so I'm ok ordering sooner if necessary.

Hey Cookie,

I'm not really in a rush right now but just thought I'd start looking.  I guess it depends how many we need...I've just been looking at one ordering source right now but I might be going south of the border in the next couple of months so I can check it out while I'm there too!

Bubbles

$32.56 for 72

$45.59 for 120

I found some chair sashes on Kijiji from a girl who got married in PEI.  What color are you going to be ordering?

What site have you been looking at this stuff on?  I'm still searching for a few other things (fans, tulle, centerpieces, etc) and it would be so much easier if there was one place that had everything I needed :).  I still dont know how many I need yet either, hoping to know in a month or so.  Have a pretty good idea, but want to make sure I order enough :)

Chair sashes - looking for coral and aqua.  You?

Hey gals,

I came across something yesterday that I had NO IDEA existed!  It is called BONGO, and its is a service that gives you an American mailing address for those companies that don't ship to Canada.  They then will ship it to you.  There are different costs depending on how many shipments you think you will need, but I think there was one option for a one month rental for $5 (plus shipping from there, of course).  We think we are going to do this for the groomsmen gifts...I will let you know how it goes!

BeachBrideSoon...  I was just at Michael's and they have bubblewands (looks identical to the ones in that picture) and its a box of 100 for $30!  Buy that with one of those 50% off coupons from their flyers and you're laughing.  They also have smaller boxes (cant remember if it was 25 or 30) for $15, not sure how many you need.  I need 60 - 70, so I'll be picking up the big box.

Also, if anyone was planning to buy folding fans, Michael's has some of those too now.  I saw the sandalwood ones and I think paper... a box of 12 was $18 or something like that.

When the heck did Michael's wedding section grow?  They have a lot of really good stuff now, I know it was never there before.

Well Ethos called me Thursday to let me know my dress is in. I drove down to Calgary so excited to try it on - and it doesn't fit! It's too big. They said it would be possible to alter it, but they would see if they could order me a smaller size in time for the wedding. Turns out they can get one in by November 20th (wedding is in February). Hoping everything works out!

Hey ladies, Just to update you all, my second dress arrived sooner than expected. And thankfully it fits! For alterations I'm planning on getting the zipper switched to a lace up back, I need the dress hemmed and I'll probably get cups sewn in the bust. Ethos gave me a card for Perfect Stitches in Beddington. I was wondering if any of you have used them for alterations before and what you thought? If not who have you used and would you recommend them?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
