Calgary Brides!

YES I find some people are completely thoughtless when it comes to weddings in general. My best friend got married a couple years ago and she had people RSVP to her in a grocery store when they randomly ran into her. I mean really.... we freakin stamped all of the RSVP cards ourselves. How hard is it to throw it in the mail?!? Also, with a DW I think people just think its all laidback and they can book their own trips whenever. They don't realize that there is alot of planning still to do for the bride. I certainly had NO IDEA until I started planning.

Woo!! That's so exciting Meghan!!! :)

Well, I am pretty darn happy! Yesterday was the final payment date for our trip, and we ended up with 56 people (including us). I was nervous that some would drop out when it came to final payment, but they all surprised us! Lets just hope all the payments go through now... haha.

There is an 'etsy' thread on the forum one of the ladies there bought some. So I say check out etsy.com - good luck.

Echo- do you have the hankies already? I live out in Cochrane and know of a couple places here. One place I've used a ton (I organize Breast Cancer events and she does all the work on the hats and shirts we raffle off) and she is really great! Her company is called Fine Lines Embroidery. I can get the number for you if you are interested. She works out of her house and it's a bit out of town(north on hwy 22) Otherwise, I got a robe embroidered at a local place in town last christmas and was also very happy with their work. Can't remember the name but I can easily find it out if you want. Kind of a pain all the way out here but I'll get the phone numbers of both if you want to make the trip.....

Hey I do have the hankies already - or at least I will have them this weekend when my alterations lady is done with them. I'm using the shawl from my dress (something I would NEVER use for myself!) to make five hankies for our moms and grandma's - it was totally an idea that I stole from someone on here cheesy.gif

So yes, if you could send me the names/addresses/numbers - whatever! - for them I would definitely appreciate it! It only takes me about 8 minutes to make it to the west side of Calgary on the ring road so cochrane really isn't a heck of a lot further from there :) Thank you!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
