ooh thanks for getting those details! Other than the time that is involved with proofing photos, can anyone comment on the amount of touch-ups that actually gets done? I'm just not sure if I can justify the price for the books which have the proofing/editing if I could do my own book using the non-edited photos just as easily with comparable results.

Suzy tried calling to see if she could get some pricing for getting the images on a disc but couldn't leave a message as she has no cell phone (the phone is missing! LOL!) and of course she didn't want FI to pick up the message by mistake! So I think she emailed to find out more details and will report back a little later today or whenever she gets an answer.

OK I didn't get an email back yet...but I did say there were a few of us Calgarians interested and wondering what kind of deal we could score - I have NO Shame!! and what we get for the $150 if we choose not to get an album...I couldn't find it posted anywhere on their website for a $50 discount when booking together??

Also, keep in mind the Lipstick N Lace option... $350 includes a CD with touch ups...no album and we'd have to go in on a little site fee....I posted her website in an earlier post...but Tait would be easier...

YAY!!!!

I came to this thread at the perfect time. Are any of you ladies hiring Tait to do your wedding photography. They gave me a quote of $2400 CAD all inclusive for them to travel to Cancun with us to shoot our wedding (Unlimited) & the TTD session the next day. Thats just alittle more than some of the quotes I had recieved from Mexican photogs to just the TTD (4 hrs & 50 photos for 1950)

Sooo excited...

Also has anyone worked with Tierone Travel?? Are they good?? I talked to a TA today & she seems to know her stuff...

I spoke to the owner and photographer of TAIT at the wedding fair this past weekend and she seems great. I'm not going with her for my wedding photo bc my mother in law is a photog, but I will be using TAIT for the BD pics. The sitting fee is $150 plus $80 for hair and makeup...they now have a studio and no longer need to use hotel rooms. You can get a large BD book (not exactly sure of the size, but it kinda looked like 10x10 and it costs $550.00 and it consists of 20 pics. You can also get a mini book - which I felt was too small, and it was much cheaper...cant remember how much exactly...oops! but it seemed like a better value for the bigger book. ALl the shots were fabulous from what I saw and everything is touched up. I am def going the touch up route, bc I saw the before and afters and it makes a HUGE difference. Im a size 12 right now and there is no way Im going without the touch ups. LOL

THe wedding fair wasnt a huge sucess as we all noted but I still had a good time and enjoyed the fashion show. Some of those dressed just made me laugh...bc I could never imagine any bride wanting to wear some of those dresses, but Im sure there are some out there that would....

The travel agents at Uniglobe and romantic travel were fabulous. Will definitely be booking with one of these TA's. So much info and so much help and I was only with them for like 10 mins. If you were looking to have an AHR, this was def the place to be this weekend. Def not the bride just looking into a DW unless of course your just going for the atmosphere...none the less, I had a good time and walked out of there with a very pink heavy bride bag....lol

Holy action on this thread today!

I would definitely be in for a marathon session wiht Tait, or someone else. Not spending $500 though!

Mel- As for your question about TierOne travel...I am using LaurieLee from TierOne, and she has been phenomenal! She was actually referred to me by a friend, and I have never regretted it. She has been absolutely awesome...especially the last week when we have literally had to re-book our whole groups trips when Transat changed the flights out of all 3 of our gateways. She figurred something out and got WestJet to hold 31 flights over the weekend, and we didn't even have deposits! Anyways, she has been great in a crunch.

I always think that it is a good idea to shop around though to see who you get a good vibe from.

Ok, so I got an email back from Tait and they didn't mention anything about $50 off when booking together?? Could have been a promotion just for the wedding show maybe??

Anyway, as I thought the $150 includes NOTHING!! Does anyone else have any ideas of how to make it cheaper??

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
