I love the idea of lining the jetty, that is going to look amazing!

You've mentioned that you are going to do the buffet and open bar. Is that correct?

We are doing a sit-down and corkage fee. I wonder if the bartenders/ waiters actually serve drinks to the guests at their tables? I've gone to family weddings in Mexico and usually they just leave bottles on each table and the bar is walk up service only.

Here are a few ideas I have and I wonder if anyone has the same or if they've asked Marco yet.

- I want a signature drink (blue margarita) for the cocktail hour and would like to have some prepared for the guests as they arrive.

- I wonder if we have a choice for any dinner listed on the menu. Our package includes a 3-Course dinner but each indiviual dinner has its own price on the menu so I'm not sure if we will be charged extra since its not specified in the contract.

-Is there a kids menu? I wonder if we can have a seperate area for the kids and thier own mini buffet??

Okay, I think thats it for now :)

I am back! at least for now! I have TONS of WORKKKKKKksmile27.gif but here are some comments regarding your comments Amy:

- the bottle in the tables is not longer used in weddings so, there will be bar , bartender and the waiters will serve the drinks for your guests , in that way you can control the amount of bottles being opened and you can return whatever you didnt use...

- regarding the options at dinner , I think you need to aks Marco about it, but I think he will ask you to order the amount of x dish and the amount of y dish , and sirve it in that way... I have been in weddings where the ladies get something and men get a different plate, so that might help, in case somebody wants to switch .....

- and for kids, I am pretty sure you can ask Marco about a Kids Menu... they probably have chicken fingers or burgers for them...

Jaime,

What locations are you trying to choose from? I was debating between the Mayan and Dreams...in the end after I visited both locations I decided on the Mayan because it had a Mayan Mexican feel but it was super trendy too. Dreams had a beautiful beach and was really nice too...but I wanted to have a late wedding and the Mayan is letting us stay until 2am.

Let me know if you need any advice.

Hi Amy, right now we are looking at Dreams, the Mayan and Las Caletas. We would prefer to either stay in the same place where our wedding is held or not too far from it.

I don't know, I'm so confused right now... too many choices! cheesy.gif

Please post here! I have so many thoughts/questions and would love to share!

i.e., we are having a Catholic Church ceremony but I love the jetty at the mayan and would like to utilize it some how. My photog suggested lining it with petals which would make a great photo op. Any suggestions?
How about a lounge sofa out there---- it draws attention and also give guests someplace to go and chill away from the crowd for a few minutes---- or you could put some casual lounge furniture out there and some little signs saying "Photos" (next sign) "this" (next sign) "way" (next sign) "please".... and then have someone out there with a casual camera taking pictures of the people that come out to the jetty.... hehehe...

its funny you say that Maria, because you can rent lounge beds from trendymob.com in Vallarta and i thought of having one at the end of the jetty. My only issue is that it might be a waste of money having lounge set up so far from the dance floor. I'm afraid ppl my go and hang out there and not dance. My plan is to keep ppl dancing, haha! But I have thought of that too, thanks!

  • 2 months later...

We seemed to have take over Christine's newbie thread, lol.. so I thought I'd bump this thread.

So I emailed Marco and he recommended that I do hire an outside WC, huhhuh.gif

I was really shocked, I really don't want to pay $2000 for a one day WC. I wonder if I overwhelmed him with questions, lol!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
