Diamondpooch's DIY thread....bound to be long :)

Recommended Posts

So, I finished a couple DIY projects. Yesterday I got my Keycard/Tip holders done. I bought the ID/Badge holders from Ebay along with the lanyards. I got 50 of each for $18. Pretty cheap. I printed the inserts on white 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock.

I don't know how to post a template link, but I borrowed mine from another BDW poster! Thanks!!!

Sorry the pics aren't that great!

I also finished my OOT tags. I printed the top part on white cardstock and glued (with a glue stick) them onto 3 x 3 squares of navy cardstock. I punched a hole in the corner with a 1/8" hole punch and threaded the ribbon through.

Finished my programs!!! I used all cardstock and cut them to my measured sizes with a guillotine. Such a time saver. If you are planning on cutting a large amount of paper/cardstock, splurge on one of these as they cut down time and also make crisp edges. The adhesive I used was a Dotto spool. I tried Zotts and also a glue stick and this Dotto thing worked awesome! It dispenses much like the white out that rolls out like tape, but it works fantastic! I ordered the fan sticks from ebay. Everything else came from Michaels. You may not be able to tell from the pics, but the background color is navy.

Here is the finished product leaning up against a candle.

I used the leftover materials to make my place cards. Not sure how much I like the handwritten names yet. I may switch it to stamped names. I've not written on all of them yet.

I decided I'm not using those place cards. Don't like them one bit. So, I ordered white finger starfish and I'm going to attach a name strip to the starfish with navy ribbon and place them all in a sand filled dish at the wedding so they will stand up straight. I'll post a pic of the starfish when I'm done with them.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
