ceremony starts at 615. sun sets at 623

Recommended Posts

we're getting married at las caletas on November 3, 2008. I recently saw a sunset calculator in another thread and punched our date in. Concerned over the time between ceremony starting and the sun setting I emailed our WC to see if we could move up the timing. No such luck. So she tells me that our ceremony starts at 615 and the sun sets at 623. I'm FLIPPING out. Our ceremony is going to start and it will already be dark!!! Needless to say we're not going to get any good pictures with our families on the beach during the daylight hours.

Now what?! She said we can move our date up. Which is still a possibility since we haven't sent STDs yet (as luck would have it i ordered them yesterday)

so gals, what would you do? i'm stressing now. our deposit is down.. ugh

Don't worry Tara, I'm sure everything will work itself out. Can you take some pics before you leave to LC? And imaging placing candles all around your ceremony area. That would be beautiful. (I remeber that Friends episode when Ross was marrying Emily and there were hundereds of candles everywhere!)

the problem with that, and Las Caletas is that the guests and your FI probably won't show up until not too long before the ceremony begins. there really isn't a ton of time before the ceremony to take pictures. i don't know how flexible that is - but since Las Caletas is actually open to the day tour during the day, there isn't a ton of extra time!

since you've been there would it be wierd to have FI and fam come over during the day?

i think there was a bride that had her FI come over early too. i don't think it would be weird - there's definitely plenty to do - you do go over with the regular day tour - there's snorkling, monkeys, a spa (like for massages, etc.), lunch, etc. you do have to pay for each additional person (you get 3 free), but it might be an option for you.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
