Has anyone bought their Wedding Rings from On-line?

Recommended Posts

My FI purchased my engagement ring online, but we bought our wedding bands at Zales. I love my engagement ring, but the diamonds definitely look smaller in person than on the website. The quality of the diamonds are pretty good; they are clear and sparkly. However, my FI also did not realize that the "Warranty" that comes with the purchase only covers manufacturing defects and nothing else. But, I'm ok with that... We can always "upgrade" our wedding sets in 5 years or so.

The wedding bands the we purchased from Zales did come with a full warranty (i.e., covers lost stones, cleaning, resizing, etc.).

My FI bought my ring on Bluenile.com. He did research and it got very high ratings. They charge less because there is very little overhead. The ring is beautiful! We got it appraised by a local jewelry appraiser and it was appraised at much more than he purchased it for. Additionally, there was not any tax on it. I would highly recommend looking on their website. They allow you to return the product if you get it and are not happy with it. We will probably get our wedding bands there too.

I was told by the appraiser that the stores in the mall charge the most because they have the highest overhead. Next is the stand alone brick and mortar stores. And online charges the least.

Good luck!

I agree w/ SDbeachgirl- My FI got my engagement ring from Bluenile as well. He did a lot of research, and got a great deal. Now I have a flawless, colorless diamond for much less than you would pay at a retail store. They have great customer service, and we plan on buying both of our wedding rings there. We have also purchased several bday and Christmas presents for the Moms and Grandmas!

Good luck!

My FI also purchased my engagement ring from bluenile. He too did ALOT of research and compared prices and products with the local retail jewelry stores. He got a great deal and my ring is awesome. We also took it to get apraised and it was valued at almost double what he paid. I think we will be purchasing our bands from them as well.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
