Has anyone ever used Dessy.com other than for dresses?

Recommended Posts

I stumbled upon Dessy.com through one of the ads and noticed that they had bridesmaid sandals and satin neckties that come in my specific colors which are Alfred Angelo's Claret and Ivory.

I wanted to order the sandals for me and my bridesmaid in case the sand is hot in the Bahamas, and the satin neckties for the groomsmen and my husband, but I'm unsure of the quality of either.

I'm ordering the flip-flops (for the girls and guys!) in the next week or two. Once I get them I can let you know about those, but I'm not sure about the neckties. I'm sure that since the Dessy Group also does so many bridesmaids dresses that their menswear should be the same quality. I am pretty sure that you can search a local bridal store that carries some of their line so you could go in and ask about the quality I'm sure.

Was the quality bad enough you wouldn't recommend them to someone else? I was thinking of getting flats from there too..
What was the sizing like? I am an 8 would that be what I order?

Thanks!

I visited the one bridal store in Tucson, AZ that does carry the Dessy stuff, so I was able to see the bridal flip-flops, the satin ties, and the matching pocket squares. They also had the swatches, so I was able to compare their claret/ivory with the Alfred Angelo claret/ivory and they are almost exact. Though, it did cost more to order through them than to order only, like a $20 difference, but they said it will take up to 14 weeks to come in..wow. I'm glad I'm doing this now. 14 weeks for that, then 1 month for my husband's linen suit, then another month for the groomsmen's suits once we verify with hubby's suit. Then about 2 mths before we leave we have to order my son's linen suit, because he's only 10 months old and he'll be 18months by the time we leave. However, at 10 months old, he's already in 24months sizes. ** sighs **

um it wasn't horrible quality- but they looked about what they cost. I am a 9 1/2 and they only had size 9 and 10 so I ordered 9 and they were too small. I would say they are true to size so I'd probably get an 8. Not sure if I'd recommend them or not...for bridal shoes, probably not - for bridesmaids yes.

  • 2 weeks later...

I place an order for my shoes sometime last week or the week before. I was looking for a 'cheaper' flip flop that was flat-which was very difficult. As long as they look okay and last throughout the night and hopefully the reception back home I'll be happy. I'll let you know when I receive them.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
