HI erica!

Would you mind sending to me what information was in your wedding brochure I like that idea - I was planning on sending either in the inviations or on the plane on itinerary of the plans!

also - did you post your passport invites and what they looked like? Would you mind sharing that info as well!

Join theknot.com (for free) and you can set up a very cute, custom website for free! It has a layout for you so that you don't forget anything. Just started mine and it is easy to figure out. They can also RSVP on the site you create. Good luck!

I guess we never really thought about the rsvp with std. Could be a good idea!

 

Regarding the wedding website- We decided to go with starting a blog with wordpress. You are able to have multiple pages and set it up the way you would like. It's free and it's something that you can continue after the wedding and add to with information about your new life!

Okay I need help! We were planning on a small wedding in FL, (20 ppl max) and only intended to send out STD for the AHR and formal invites later for that. I'm kinda getting the feedback from online that friends/family might think I'm rude because I'm not inviting EVERYONE to the wedding. Is it not fair to want a small wedding, and to not want some family there? (I know that sounds horrible but I have a sister who has burned me (and other siblings) WAY to many times, and I wont regret it)

I wouldn't feel bad at all about wanting a small wedding. It is your day, and it is up to you how many people you want to include. (And we have found througout the planning process that no matter what you do, or who you invite, people will give you their opinion anyway)! So make your wedding day what you want!

I'm so glad to see that I'm not the only one trying to figure this out! We plan to invite several people to the DW,and are unsure who will come. I don't want people to feel burdened by our wedding so i am struggling with the wording on the save the date card. We are also planning to have an at home reception. Do we invite the people that did attend the DW to the AHR too? Definitley wouldn't want people to have to make 2 trips if they live in a different state than we do. Should we send save the date cards for the AHR at the same time as the DW?

What do you all think of this...

Send out "formal" Invites to ppl going to wedding (from pp total guest is 20 and all immediate family, who live in the area and we see every other week)

 

STD for everyone we wish could make it + ppl that are attending for our DW with wording something to the affect of "Anthony & Katie will be joining together on this date, please join them for a celebration on New Years Eve, blah blah"

 

Sound okay? Would we need a "formal" invite to our AHR??

Well be sending a boarding pass invitation/save-the-date mix about a year before, and include on another sheet all the booking information. No other formal invitation, I don't see the point as I'll already know by then who's coming by looking at who will have booked. Then a few weeks before the wedding we're thinking of sending a "Get ready for Cuba" booklet, to get everyone excited about the trip (totally stole this idea from someone on this site).

 

As for our AHR, if we do one it will be VERY informal and casual, so I think we'll just be sending an email invitation.

Besides my Save the Dates (can't get over calling it an STD, haha!)... I'll probably send out an invitation a couples months before wedding date, but basically for info regarding our at home reception. I'd love to book a hall now, but I want to have pictures from a photographer for that and haven't booked out yet, which leaves a dilemma because they all seem to take different amounts of time to get pictures to you.

Thank you to everyone! I like the word press idea and the knot -it does seem easy to use! Oh boy its January and I feel behind when I come onto this site with everyone so right into their planning! Ahhh!

 

I wanted to share my STD. Its nothing fancy but if you are looking for examples of wording - we just simply sent it out as an email and to some of the older folk by snail mail we kept it simple too.

 

We are planning on a home party as well (forget the acronym for that one). WE just bought our house and will move in by end of march....do you all think its better to send out the date for that party with the wedding invitation or just not say anything and wait to send out something more casual and closer to the date?

 

Here is a great website to keep guests up to date (from someone on this forum) I'm trying to trace back to who it was and can't find you but you have a great site if you ever end up reading this!!!

      Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010.       Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations.
