How much you paid for your photographer??

Recommended Posts

Since being on a budget, I was really wondering about the price for a professional photographer. I would like to know how much you paid for your photographer and what your package included.

Thanks for sharing....

Well, without going into exact pricing I paid travel/accommodations which I was fortunate enough to be able to split with two other brides, plus a (greatly reduced from her usual) fee for her services. It came out to less than $1500 all together, however sharing the travel expenses helped a lot. I'm getting a full day of wedding coverage, prints on DVD and an extra TTD shoot. I shopped it around, and found that you could easily pay thousands, though, depending on who you book.

I also was able to find BDW brides who were willing to share the expense! I'm getting 8 hours (5 on the wedding day and 3 for TTD the next day) for under $1300, and that includes a CD with edited images. :)

Shop around, find a few options and let them know what your budget is. Some photographers will lower their price for the opportunity and holiday.

This is a great thread! I wanted to know the same thing a few months ago!!

I am paying for my photog's travel and half of her second shooter's (her FI) travel & stay. It includes our engagement shoot & a cd of all the pics taken, my BD shoot and all the pics, full coverage on the wedding day by both of them and our TTD.

She is GREAT to work with and she is moving to Hawaii so if you either live in Illinois or are getting married in Hawaii I totally recommend her!

here is her blog: Britten Traughber Photography

I am paying for my photographers travel expenses to cover the cost of her doing the wedding. She will shoot all day and also do a ttd, and take some causal photos of everyone throughout the week. I will have to pay extra for any photos I order, but she will give be a CD with all the prints. As an added bonus a friend of hers is also joining us and will also do photos of the big day. Her services will be free as she wants to start doing DW. She will also give me a CD of all the photos, so if I want any to order I can!

We are paying around $3950. That includes wedding day, trash the dress, and boudoir shoots.

That also includes all images/high res disks and one album for each shoot, so three albums total.

We did not have to pay travel fees because they are on the island. Which worked out great for us.

It definitely depends on what you want and what is in your budget. You should shop around and see what works best for you. I'm using photosouvenir and they have different price points depending on how many hours you want to book them for. So again it depends on how many hours you want them for, if you want a TTD session, do you want a videographer..things like that.

I paid around $2500 I believe. I flew him in from Seattle for four nights. I got the rehearsal dinner, wedding day, and trash the dress sessions... all unlimited shooting. in the end I got a book of images, a dvd slideshow, and a disc of all the images. GREAT deal!

    • I have stayed at Dreams La Romana and Dreams Dominicus.  The two resorts are very different in style and decor. A few comparison points are below and fact sheets are attached for both.   Both resorts are approx 45 minutes from Punta Cana airport, close proximity to Saona Island, Catalina Island and Altos de Chavon. Top championship golf courses in the Caribbean are just minutes away including Teeth of the Dog, Dye Fore, The Links and La Estancia – all designed by world-famous Pete Dye. Restaurants are similar at both resorts.  Both offer the Explorers Club for Kids.  Dreams Dominicus  Brand new resort and in 2016 488 rooms (however additional construction was underway) More contemporary style & decor Good beach area Rooms were very nice Preferred Club located in main lobby and adjacent to main pool & beach front Food was good Center plaza area with nighttime entertainment Main lobby is small, but outdoor bar off lobby is nice Dreams La Romana Originally built in 2003 & opened as Dreams La Romana in 2008 756 rooms Recently renovated and new preferred club adults only lounge & pool added  Rooms are more traditional Caribbean decor Grounds are very lush and tropical Good beach area food was good    Dreams Dominicus fact sheet.pdf Dreams La Romana fact sheet.pdf
