The Royal~Playa del Carmen ?'s!!!!!

Recommended Posts

Hi! Our wedding is at the Royal April 17 and all of this advice is really helpful! I just asked on another thread but does anyone have experience with playaweddings.com photography? Del Sol seems a bit expensive and Elizabeth Medina is booked already. Other photographer suggestions?

Hi loves,

Bows $3 each

I have the pricing sheet for the cakes, somewhere with costs and flavors and some photos, we are having a 3 tier cake made and I believe it was like $250usd for a 35 person cake, we dont know our final though.

The tres leche cake, is amazing! we've stayed there 2x now and when you check in they ask what reason you are here for, like honeymoon, anniv', etc, so both time's we've had a mini tres leche cake brought to our room.

Table deminisions I didnt even think to ask, but they fit 8-10 people, but the lady we did our site inspection with said they recommend 7-8 at a table.

The light up dance floor is not included in the package, because it doesnt even come through them, its just with dj ivans package.

I just got back from our site inspection, so if you have any other questions.

oh and for food tasting, the salads I dont remember all the names off hand, but I believe we did the carribean shrimp salad, really good, the sauce was very tangy, we tried the avacoda stuffed with crap pulp, I loved him my fiance wasnt too thrilled and then the last salad was off the vegetarian menu and i believe it was just a regular house like salad with zucchini.

entrees, we tried the salmon(dont remember exact one of hand) it was delicious! the pasta with dried sauce, again delicious and the beef tournade fillet, which again was good. were going with all 3 and I just have to keep track of the menus per table basically. For dessert we had the baked pear, it was good but not my cup of tea, the cheesecake, was good, but whats the point if youre having wedding cakes, and the other one again I dont remember but its what we picked, it was 2 cone like shaped things stuffed with cholocate mousse, and it was yummy! the chocolate even had little silver stars.

Grrrrr!!!! I got quoted I think $1,200. I wonder if this rule is just for this specific DJ or all in general?

Thanks for the info.

It applies for all the DJ's, you have to book it through them. I think they use DJ Mannia as well. I'm not sure about any others.

How long was the $1,200 for?

We booked through DJ Ivan and got him for 4 hours with the light up dance floor for $1,200.

The $1,200 is for 3hrs and does not include the dance floor. Only lights and sound.

the exact height of the round tables used for receptions 74 centimeters

And the measurement for how far across they are. 1.80 meters

how tall the back of the chair is, 45 centimeters

how tall the seat is off the ground and 47 centimeters

How wide the back is. 92 centimeters

Basically they are 6' round tables that seat 10 people. I have been there, and at one time i was a banquet waitress and this is industry standard.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
