Help! Which MOB dress?

Recommended Posts

Compared to your FMIL dress I don't know if either of them look "beachy" even though I think both are gorgeous!

That being said I think your mom should wear whatever she feels comfrortable in. If it's really important to you then I would talk to her and try to convince her. But I don't think it'll ruin the day/wedding if your mom is wearing something formal.

I love dress Number 1 and think it would be perfect for the beach wedding, I agree the other one is a lot more formal and is so dark, it might stick out. That being said if she is soo convinced number 2 is right for the beach maybe this might be a battle you shouldn't fight. Also maybe she will find a dress she likes better that is more formal than the first but still beach appropriate - then she can wear the first one to the rehearsal - doesn't hurt to look she might realize she already has the perfect dress.

Maybe when she sees the bm dresses & MIL dress & your dress together she will see it is really formal. Maybe create a collage of all the dresses and one with dress #1 & dress#2 and you mom will see the first dress is great for the beach. (or maybe she can change after the ceremony so she gets best of both worlds)

Thanks everyone for your response!! I have tried countless times, along with my father to convince her that dress #1 is PERFECT for the ceremony with no luck. I may have to show her all of your responses lol.

I should've clarified that the ceremony will be in a Gazebo overlooking the beach at 5pm.

Haha, I love the veto power. I should have claimed it long ago but my mom is a stubborn one, what she wants is what she gets.

I love this idea and I hope the collage will convince my mom further! I will keep you updated.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
