Welcome to the forum! It took me a while to figure out where I wanted to get married, but eventually I decided and no matter where you go it's going to be great...good luck with the big decision.

Hawaii and Cabo were our two choices to start with as well. Have you been to either place? We have been to both and I can't say that I like one location more than the other, they are both beautiful. I didn't do a whole ton of research on Hawaii because from what I did find, it seemed it was going to be more expensive than going to Cabo. If I can remember right, there were places that had wedding ceremonies set for 8 AM.. and the later in the day the more expensive. We chose Cabo because of the cost, and I found a boutique hotel where the our beach ceremony will be more private than on a crowded beach. How many people are you expecting to attend? Hope this helps a little.

Thanks for all of the support everyone! BeachBride10, your question is a good one because not very many people would be able to attend Hawaii due to the cost I'm afraid. Everything tends to be more expensive there. It's too bad because I think this would be ideal, but I'm not sure I can justify the cost either. After all, I don't want to break the bank getting married!

I have been to both places and love them equally for different reasons. It's really hard to compare them isn't it? I wonder though, although it's more expensive in Hawaii maybe it would be easier for people? No passport, most people have been there before, etc... Listen to me go on about "other people." I should just think about what I want (and wish to spend) and know that everyone I really care about will be there.

Thanks again everyone!

Jananaz - due to my very supportive fiance, he is no help at all. :) He has his opinions for sure, but he said he would be happy in either place. Very sweet, but not much help! haha. All of the guests have different opinions. The consensus is that our "A-List" people will come to either location as long as they have ample notice to plan and save. Everyone has their preference, but say it's up to me. This doesn't help me at all!

Maybe it will come down to cost for us as well. I can only justify spending so much on our wedding (and asking people to do the same). This must be why Mexico is so popular!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
